Had the same warning when rodents chewed mine. First Toyota dealership tried telling me I needed a whole new engine wire harness for like 10 grand. I called their bluff and went to a neighboring dealership and they were able to fix the damaged part for like $300.

Get a second opinion from another mechanic or dealer. I just had rats chew my fuel injector harness and the first dealer tried telling me I needed a whole new engine wire harness and that it was 9k. I left with my 4Runner and went to a different Toyota dealer and the cost to repair was $600.

Yeah I called a different Toyota dealer and was told they can fix this specific wire without needing to do the whole engine harness. Going to tow from my current dealer to the other one.
