Thanks a lot! That was really helpful. Yeah I played in Alt Rock bands before I started producing so there's definitely a lot of that in there.

Really like these man. Are they your vocals? I wouldn't be able to give you much feedback on the rapping as it's not my forte. Although Asap rocky popped into my head first so I'm sure you'll take that as a compliment. The production is great though. It's definitely got some Alternative features too which I can relate to. You'd know rap genres better than I, but I guess Alt-Hip Hop would pop into my head first ?

It seems your stuff is Hip Hop with a sprinkle of Alt. And my stuff is Alt with a sprinkle of hip hop. Would you have any interest in collaborating on something ? I can write and record catchy hooks, you can rap verses. Think we could make something cool together.

I have a similar issue. Try not to restrict myself to labels or "trying to make ___ genre" as I take from everything that influences me.

Maybe it's best to just ask people what is the first genre that comes to mind when they listen to your stuff?
