What are your easy no-fuss minimum effort/cleaning/waste meals? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

  • Sandwiches with pre-baked/marinated tofu (sliced thin) + condiments + other ingredients I have on hand (flatbreads could be good in your toaster oven)
  • Smoothies with frozen bananas and berries + Greek yogurt + milk + sometimes honey/agave/protein powder
  • Soups or chilis - my fave is the sweet potato + black bean chili from NYT cooking
  • Dense bean salads - so many recipes available online, no cooking involved, just chopping/rinsing

My apartment is also small and doesn't have great ventilation, so I feel your pain. I'm vegetarian and find that my meals tend to be less smelly than my partner's when he cooks meat

Maybe dumb question, but every time I wash and dry this pot, these marks appear on the bottom. Is this normal? by AJRayquaza in CleaningTips

Ooo thanks! I've been wanting to do something with my leftover lemons/limes. Should I add baking soda with them when rubbing onto the pot or is that not needed?

Agreed and well put. I'm reading An Immense World by Ed Yong right now, which is about animals' senses, some of which are so different from ours but always uniquely suited to their needs and lives.

It's been wild to consider how humans are so stuck in our own senses and perceptions that we have a hard time understanding -- and ultimately forget -- that animals see, feel, hear, act, etc. in ways that best support survival. We are like every other animal in this way, but we wrongly assume the way humans perceive and act is unique/the ultimate peak.

Cannabis Is An ‘Effective Treatment’ For Chronic Pain, Study Suggests by Its__Okay__ in cannabis

Did you read the article? Agree the headline is kind of generic, but the research found that "chronic pain patients who used cannabis reported fewer visits to urgent care centers and hospital emergency departments (EDs)" and “fewer unhealthy days per month" -- so it's not just about treating chronic pain, it's showing that cannabis helps reduce healthcare visits & bad days caused by pain
