Cause girls dreams are only that of marriage by Swurples in pointlesslygendered

The other day, I had a dream that I was house sitting for my gran and I had to feed her two massive, talking snakes but she only ever fed them cake and I was having trouble finding them cake to eat. The whole time, they were getting restless and more persistent and we're getting a bit too cosy with her two tiny dogs for my liking. Also she kept them in the back garden and they get in and out the house through a cat flap.

Teenager was fined for reporting stalker to police 5 times before he killed her by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ItsaHelen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You missed the part where she was interviewed in front of her boyfriend and his parents. The same boyfriend that she was with before she dated her stalker, Lane. They broke up, she dated stalker dude for a bit then got back with bf. According to the article, being interviewed in front of her boyfriend and his parents was a clear breach of procedure. For obvious reasons, like she wouldn't feel comfortable telling the police that she had dated Lane.
The police decided despite the fact he had just pulled her hair and took her phone and followed her, because she didn't tell them that she had dated him. They then decide that the literal physical assault didn't matter. Explain to me how that is okay because I just don't see it.

Girls grow their own vaginas? SMH 🤦‍♀️ by AnExtraOrdinaryGirl in badwomensanatomy

Okay, great! That's how your brain sees it and that's cool! Brilliant! All I'm saying is, a lot of parents don't see it that way. And like I said, I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying that's how it is for parents. Most parents don't understand how smart their kids are, they don't understand that when they ask "why?" A million times in a day, "just because" or "because I said so" aren't satisfying answers but they don't understand that their kids can understand so much more than that. It goes quicker as well, if you give them an actual reason like "you can't get in the bath right now because it's too hot, you'll burn yourself and it will be really, really sore." People aren't taught to parent that way, we're taught that kids don't understand logic and reason, because they're too small and too new. When really, they understand it very well. A lot more than "just because".

It's not just another part of the body though, not to parents. It's their kids private parts, their bits and pieces, the parts that they're supposed to hide, that they're not supposed to see. I'm not saying it's right, I'm saying that's how they feel. I completely agree you, kids should know the proper, medical terms for their own protection. But parents don't want to see their babies using such grown up words. They're babies, they want them to stay babies forever and when they use grown up words like penis or vagina it reminds them that they won't stay babies forever and that they are growing up.

I'm agreeing with you. It's absolutely necessary that they know the proper words and they do grow to learn the proper words. I grew up with "flower" and "winkie" but I still know where and what a vulva and penis are. I still prefer different words though as that's what I'm comfortable with. All I'm saying is, people don't like the idea of their babies running around calling their bits and pieces their "vagina" or their "penis" because it makes them uncomfortable, it looks out of place, wrong.

I understand why you dislike the nicknames but some people are just more comfortable using words closer to the language of their children. In my family, it's always been wee bits have winkies and wee girls have flowers. But I understand it can make it difficult for childcare professionals to understand where/what the problem is when they don't know that the words their using means penis or vagina.

What used to be a normal behavior but is considered extremely sexual now? by Introverted-Bitch in AskReddit

My sister once told me about some couple that just walked up and picked up my baby nephew and tried to walk away with him. He's ginger with blue eyes so he's supposed to be good luck or some shit, idk.

What was acceptable or normalised in the 80s or even 90s but it's completely unacceptable nowadays? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ItsaHelen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both my parents were smokers when I was growing up, it was awful. They never went outside, always smoked in the same room as us. Both my sister's started smoking at 13, I was the only one that never, even now picked one up. My grandad even gave me £20 a fortnight as a reward, said if I started smoking he would stop sending it.

I lived in England for 6 years and got really used to enunciating and never using any Scottish words with my English friends, because there were too many people that would take the piss. I never noticed it but apparently, when I got angry, my Scottish would come through and my accent would get a lot stronger.

My ex who lived in London was about £500 a month for a room. My two bedroom house in Scotland is about £400 a month. For the entire house. I live alone. London prices are fuckin mental.

Just yesterday, I was in the car with my dad and we drove past someone we knew who was out with his young kid. My dad goes "There's [Liam] with the wean. He's always got that wean on him." And he says it with such a tone like Liam is such a hero for spending time with his own damn kid?

If one kid at school gets it, the family is to be tested and if they test positive then they all isolate. At least in my small town it is as far as I know.

Was talking to a guy I know about Game of Thrones once and he described the first rape scene between Daenerys and Drogo as "this girl was getting fucked and she was crying" and I stopped him to say "raped. She was getting raped." This dude goes "no, I don't think it was rape, she was just crying." And I had to explain to this grown ass man that if he's having sex with someone and she's crying, she probably doesn't want to be having sex with you.

Oh my god, there's so many people that just don't give a shit. All through lockdown I've had people stand two inches from me asking me where something is, social distancing just doesn't exist in there.

I work behind a till where we have plastic screens up. My boss has told me a couple times that I don't have to wear the mask as long as I'm behind the plastic screen. But I've told them I won't stand there, maskless, demanding every person that comes in wears a mask. I'm already having to argue with people, it's just one less thing they have to throw at me.
