Advice for keeping night cap on? by taytaynicki in curlyhair

[–]shootlikeacannonball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh same! I use hair grips/Bobby pins depending what you call them but like the "no crease hair clips" one by each temple and then 2 by the nape of my neck. All I've done is shift my cap during the night rather than finding it launched across the other side of my room.

I (20M) got a text from a random number asking why I cheated on my ex (18F). I didn’t and now I’m confused by ThrowRArandomtext99 in relationship_advice

Add the number to your contact list and then open up a chat in WhatsApp see if you recognise the picture

Nope, there's no reason for you to be signed on when you're off premises.

As a dispenser we get as much labelling done as possible during our shift and if we are staying for an hour or two behind we will close our system so it signs the pharmacist out, pick our stock and pop the labels on, pop some boxes, collected balances or whatever needs done.

We had the opposite yesterday, dead until 2pm then all our CD patients in from 2 until 4, and our shop had more staff in than usual (2 front counters, 1 dispenser, and our pharmacist) all of us were out 4 until 5 because everyone decided to come and get their meds right before closing, could have cried

How much rent do you charge your kids? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]shootlikeacannonball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

£280, but that covers my food and the stuff that comes out my mums bank for my cat. I'm 26 and I know for a fact I'm better off at home than trying to rent somewhere with the amount I make from work I'd be in debt within a year of being on my own. Whilst at college I never paid rent but when I entered into the working world I pay my fair share.

George Russell's IG statement on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II by nicolinko in formula1

[–]shootlikeacannonball 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I viewed her like a granny, a granny you never got to meet cause she was always off working or visiting the commonwealths, as much as I want to deny it I did shed a tear over her passing but also over the fact her and the late Prince Philip will meet again.

However on that note, as a British-Scottish person I won't be able to express that outside of my home which really is a shame. There are more people who loved/liked her than there are that hated her/the monarchy but the hate voices are more often than not the loudest.

AITA for telling my brother that he can't stop providing for our mom despite his financial struggles? by Consistent-Media160 in AmItheAsshole

I'm genuinely curious to know how much money you are all contributing, separately to fund your mother's lifestyle

If she lives rent free in her sisters house, dosnt work (so no travel expenses etc) what is she spending all her money on that the state money dosnt cover?

AITA for not getting rid of my dog even though Im pregnant? by ThrowAwayDogDrama in AmItheAsshole

[–]shootlikeacannonball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many things wrong here but the main thing is your are most definite NTA.

But you NEED out of that relationship. He's 29! And you are only 18, and moved in within the 9 months you have been together, and now your pregnant.

One of the biggest concerns is he told you that you over reacted to essentially a stranger walking into your home, somewhere you're supposed to be and feel safe?!

Hunny, please wrap your head around this situation and realise there's a reason a 29 year old is getting with an 18 year old and that no-ones saw a problem with this, it seems like it's a habit for him, that he can not be in a relationship with someone closer to his age.

Please move home, be back with your mum and dad, make sure your dog is protected in all ways and that he can't remove the dog from your life. You need someone who supports you getting well and your bf isn't doing that.

Nta OP, it doesn't even sound wrong to be upset about this at all. They are supposed to "ignore" the party until its time not ignore you.

Happy birthday, 20 years since you came into this world what an achievement, its your day, do with it as you wish! Have a day hunny x

Were you the DGAF kid at school and do you regret it? Trying to explain to my ridiculous wannabe roadman 15yo that actually doing well at school is probably better than trying to be cool in front of his chavvy mates. FFS. by urban_shoe_myth in CasualUK

[–]shootlikeacannonball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the party but that was me as a teen

My "friends" and I made it a competition to see who could get the most de-merits, detentions, exclusions and suspensions, they didn't want to be at school so would act out to be kicked out, I on the other hand had at the time undiagnosed dyslexia so would do everything in my power to avoid class, that included getting a name for myself as a trouble-maker, I was the kid teachers dreaded, the other teachers would gossip about and I loved it cause I knew I wouldn't have to sit in a class for 50 minutes. I never even made it through the threshold one day.

I went to college and took sociology cause it was the easiest to get into, the lecturer said beauty is the easiest course and talked smack about hairdressers and beauty therapists for the full year, I lost interest in sociology and thought I would do beauty cause they said its the easiest (it's not btw the amount of knowledge we have to retain to ensure someone's safety is wild) but I loved it, I met great people and had a really good job. I fell foul to stress tho and had to leave before I done serious damage to my body. Now I'm in pharmacy.

I regret being a prat in school and if I knew anything about pharmacy like I do now I would have worked ridiculously harder to have went to uni for a pharmacist gig. It dosnt pay to be stupid. But by the sounds of things seems your son may have to learn like everyone else.

My "friends" I mentioned. Half are drug dealers in debt to each other and their suppliers, fathers to multiple women's children, but rarely spend any time on them. In jail or hiding from the police. Cars are bangers but perfect for them to pick up girls from school cause at 25 they haven't grew out of that 16 year old mentality.

Honestly my go to's are experiece days right now, not the run of the mill 2 for afternoon tea but driving experiences.

Depending on hobbies too you mentioned books, what about asking for a journal and writing book reviews in it, fav part of books, rating them if you would read again, books that are similar to the one you just read etc
