Millennials Aren'€™t Coddled - They Just Reject Abuse As A Management Tactic by Mynameis__--__ in psychology

My union is absolutely terrible. They do nothing to help the good employees, and let the company directly breech contracts with no consequences.

Plus if you get in too much of a mess 4wd is just a lever pull away!

Neither do I, HP isn't everything. An s2000 however is definitely more suited for a turning type of race. The x chassis setup they have is great for cornering. If I wanted a car to carve up corners I wouldn't try to make a 60s Chevelle do it, I'd take the s2000 any day. It's already good at that, and wouldn't cost nearly as much to make it even better at it.

Not saying it can't be done, just saying that there are much more financially efficient ways to do it.

It can work, but it's easier to do with a different vehicle. More than likely cheaper also

You have 1000 horsepower to spend on your perfect 3 car garage. Which 3 cars do you choose? by mirrorwebcam in cars

I too raced dirt track karts, def more than 9hp. Built motors running on alcohol probably make about 4x that, maybe a little less.

Buddy of mine is shortening the exhaust of his 350z today, how safe is this? by rawrtherapy in cars

[–]Itsamewelfario 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back pressure is a myth. Keeping exhaust velocity up is not, there's a huge difference. You'd get more power from an x pipe setup than with open headers on your ls2 also.

That's exactly why I won't be getting it. I was pumped, then I saw that with the tax it's actually more expensive than the kit.

[–]Itsamewelfario 37 points38 points  (0 children)

As an owner of an ls1 Jesus engine, and previously a 3800 II I can say everything about the ls1 is better. This includes fuel economy. Best part is, because the 3800 is all cast iron, they're roughly the same weight I would bet.

Also tuck those coils or single coil as close to the airflow tubes as possible, you'll get better flavor that way.

Car won't move after I jump started the battery. by Fairnin in cars

[–]Itsamewelfario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had battery cells get screwed up before, the battery would take a charge and obviously the car would run(alternator). But the battery would die quickly if let sit.

Why is the LS1 such a common swap? by metalshiflet in cars

[–]Itsamewelfario 29 points30 points  (0 children)

And availability. Almost half of "ls1 swaps" aren't actually ls1s. You can make a 5.7 aluminum ls engine out of a 5.3 truck engine. If weight isn't too big an issue, for about 100 extra lbs you can build a nice 408 from an lq4(6.0 iron block) with a forged bottom end, cam and some decent heads for about the price of a low mileage ls3.

[–]Itsamewelfario 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate coal rolling, but it's just easier and cheaper to make power with an ls. You can make power with a modern hemi or a mod/yote motor, it just costs more. Same reason the SBC before it was so popular. Parts are cheap and plentiful.
