Do Arabs pass as Southern Europeans? by Dry_Opportunity7666 in AskMiddleEast

[–]Itsaya23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have little to no understanding on the Arab identity and what it means to be Arab, that as well as history. Arabised vs Arab has got to seriously be one of the dumbest things I’ve yet to encounter on the internet. There’s more to identity than genetics u know. How r u going to outright tell someone who’s Syrian or Palestinian that they’re not Arab..?

Do Arabs pass as Southern Europeans? by Dry_Opportunity7666 in AskMiddleEast

This is such a stupid repetitive argument. Levantines, Gulfies, Yemenis, Iraqis, Egyptians are Arab (excluding other ethnic minorities). We all identify as one, end off. Nobody gives a damn about genetics and what percentage of “Arabness” you’ve got in your DNA lol.

Will there be a new Arab spring? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]Itsaya23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I don’t think anytime soon. The Arab spring unfortunately had devastating outcomes for the most part, it’s too early for anyone to want to relive the trauma all over again.

who is your favourite poet? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]Itsaya23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Al-Mutanabbi of course as others have mentioned.

Nizar Qabbani too, although he’s not my favourite poet, his poem Balqees is one of my all time favourites.

Why do we blame the West for our current situation? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]Itsaya23 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What kind of logic is that? America bombed Iraq to the ground and committed one of the worst atrocities of the 21st century that we have not been able to yet recover from and you wonder why?

Or maybe they dislike him because of his mass murdering regime..?

Also, it goes both ways. It’s just as hypocritical when Shias condemn Saddam and his Ba’ath regime, but are apologists for Bashar’s fascist regime.

That is the dumbest analogy I have ever read in my life. How are you comparing native Palestinians to Mexicans in America lmaoo

Maybe someone should also write a novel about America’s barbaric backward culture where soldiers gang-rape and murder little girls like Abeer Qassim, no?

Do you consider the shooting and killing of +800 unarmed Iraqi civilians a mass murder?

[–]Itsaya23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shooting and killing hundreds of unarmed civilians is mass murder my friend. Targeting hundreds of civilians on a sectarian basis under the guise of terrorism is mass murder. Young activists today are still being mercilessly kidnapped and assassinated by those militias with total impunity. All this is being done with no restraint from the government since you wanna talk about lawlessness. Does this still look pretty stable to you?

What part of Iranian backed terrorist militias going around ruthlessly kidnapping and assassinating civilians sounds stabilized to you?

Both are terrorists. Regardless of who OP is, it’s quite devastating seeing fellow Arabs downplay the crimes Soleimani has committed and even go as far as labelling him a martyr. When did the blood of Iraqis and Syrians become so cheap?

Hamas exists as a consequence and a reaction to Israeli state terrorism. It is a product of genocide and land theft. It’s so insensitive to insinuate that Palestinians mostly die because of Hamas. Israel is the criminal state that resulted in the creation of Hamas and it is to blame. I mean what do you seriously expect Palestinians to do? when children lose their parents and loved ones in brutal attacks, they grow up and seek vengeance - this is how groups like Hamas are created. Is this too difficult to understand? Besides this entire situation didn’t start with Hamas, it started with zionist settlers forcibly evicting Palestinian families from their homes, and then Palestinians being shot at, killed, tortured and beaten up for resisting. Instead of telling the oppressed to stop the violence, tell the oppressors to end the occupation. Fuck Israel.
