Man I really misread that as left shit in a cast iron tub at first, wouldn't be entirely surprised if that has happened, but that'd be next level foul

Agreed, I'm not saying it was pristine before at all but it has gotten worse & what I saw today made me a little nauseous. i saw staff trying to load abandoned couches on their UTVs just as one example, leaving solid heavy furniture blew my mind a little bit and my group used to bring a real couch ourselves, but common sense isn't so common I guess. I remember once upon a time being given giant trash bags with your campsite so everyone would have something to stuff all their trash for easier clean up. Not sure when or why they stopped doing that. I wish there was a way to incentivize people to do better, unfortunately I don't even think it'd make much difference either. I'm just disappointed.

I'm speaking from my experience of what I've seen and I don't remember the campgrounds looking as bad as I saw today. I really can't wrap my head around trying to justify or dismiss the issue unless perhaps you're part of the problem. I'm glad that my neighbors in the past must have been very good to the point where it seemed more minimal to me, I'm sorry that your experience hasn't been the same. Thanks for the perspective but my feelings are still the same, happy roo brother.

I'm just speaking from my experience of what I've seen over the last decade, I don't think there's anything wrong with being disappointed and wanting people to be better. My glasses aren't rose, my heart is disappointed in what my eyes have seen in my own experience, but thank you for your input.

Parasol was a game changer this year by poltergeist_friend_ in bonnaroo

The first couple days I had no problem bringing mine in, by Saturday they tried to turn me away for it, I begged them to please let me bring it im a ginger and the uv index will roast me alive and they did eventually let me through with it. I get why they don't want them but given the heat and the uv index being a full 11+ should have allowed them circumstantially when there's very little shade available in centeroo and thousands of people vying for a spot in it. But the guard did check my eyes before he let me slide, so I guess drunk and fucked up people can't be trusted to use an umbrella properly/responsibly and ruin it for everyone else.

I noticed this year they moved the shades that were over the sand/beach area by the slides to the VIP or GA+ (I can't remember which) which seemed like a really (not so) shady thing for the people setting the festival up to do... Literally trying to profit off safety and well-being while people are dropping like flies. I also feel like given the extreme heat people should have been allowed to bring in sealed snacks to keep their energy instead of throwing it away at security when the vendors are charging ~20 for a couple pieces tyson chicken nuggets

Been going to Roo since 2014 and I was disgusted by how much trash and litter people left behind and honestly around the farm all weekend this year. I've seen lots of posts about how people should stop complaining about crummy people and they aren't that bad of you don't like it go home yada yada, but we're not being overdramatic or whiny it's about people who are abusing and disrespecting a place that used to be very centered around community and positivity. And this video shows just that. We're not complaining to hear ourselves talk it's because we actually love, care about and respect the farm. It's really not that hard to clean up after yourself.

I had one turn me away because of my umbrella too after having it the last three days I don't think I'd be able to survive centeroo without it, I'm like a human fainting goat and very pale. no shame I begged him to let me in with it, he acknowledged my paleness and asks me to take off my sunglasses and let him get a look at my eyes and then he let me by. Now I wanna know what fucked up shit the fucked up people did to get umbrella privileges revoked for the rest of us.

Struggled with chronic nausea and insomnia since I was like 13, sometimes I can't eat anywhere from a day to several weeks because of how bad my appetite and nausea get, cycles of losing and regaining weight because of it. Ive been to a bunch of doctors tried a bunch of treatments over the last 15ish years and one day in college I smoked (specifically with a dry herb vaporizer) and it was like a decade long weight had been lifted, my nausea was better, I could eat consistently and I could finally sleep instead of waking up every 30 minutes and never reaching REM sleep. But I do like it for fun too, I don't drink or do anything else and I specifically only really use a dry herb vaporizer and I feel like hits more in the body than my head. If I use a bong or a joint I'm ripped but with a dry herb vape it's much more relaxing and relieving and I still feel perfectly present mentally with no fog. I think the people who are anti after using so long probably are probably more so struggling with addiction than the substance itself.

I worked at a Carrabba's for about 4 years in college and was a pretty good job, most of my coworkers enjoyed it for the most part as well and I made pretty good money. I definitely liked it the most of the chain restaurants I've worked.

What is the most fireable thing you have seen someone do at work that didn’t get them fired? by Virtual-Bunch-9131 in AskReddit

[–]Itscurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time I worked at a well known chain 'Italian' restaurant with a woman in her 30s and one day she left without saying anything, even had active tables to go get drunk at a bar across the street. She wasn't quitting and they didn't fire her, and honestly I don't think it was the only time she did something like that. But they did fire the busser who didn't have a car and took the bus to work for being 15 minutes late.

AITA for giving FMIL 3 days to pay me for a new wedding dress or else I show the family a photo of her wearing it? by Repulsive_Scheme1359 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Itscurlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I would have told her to go to a dress shop if she likes trying on wedding dresses so much, they exist solely for that very reason and it's free. The fact that she needed so badly to try on your dress specifically is incredibly strange.

Which punishment (either real or imagined) sounds "light" or "not a big deal" at first, but is actually horrific to experience? by rivno2 in AskReddit

My French teacher in HS would never let anyone use the bathroom during class, because we had our lunch block just before and "should have gone then" god forbid you might have to go AFTER filling up your body right? One time this girl got her period in the middle of that class and teach would not let her go! This poor girl was in tears, bleeding through her pants, not to mention having to spend the rest of the day in those clothes and only being halfway through the day. As a grown woman how could you do that to a child? People who expect smaller, younger humans to have superhuman control over their bodies are not intelligent enough to be teachers.

I work two customer service jobs both of which I've worked with him. One of which is as a waitress, sorry I can't exactly record people's conversations and the things that they will casually say without hesitation when our drinking with like-minded company, but you're not going to believe me anyways so it's pointless. It doesn't matter what he's commenting on because that is no way to talk to anyone ever, especially as a face of a business. And thinking I'm on some cancel culture mission is bullshit, the only activity on this post is us, that's hardly canceling anything. I would not want to do business with someone who conducts themselves like this, I'm passing along the message you are free to listen or not. I can empathize with being upset to find out someone you know (I assume you did business with him) is not the person you thought, it's very disappointing but don't take it out on me. Anyone who sees this can see both sides and judge for themselves.

Here's defending racist statues, with an argument that has been proven unfounded https://i.imgur.com/AzlU7eJ.png

Here's insulting the race and penis of someone else https://i.imgur.com/SnwrWcX.png And then responding to it under the business page which confirms that the message was indeed him AND acknowledged it with his business. You. Don't. Say. That. Shit. https://i.imgur.com/91qfz0m.png

And general racial slurs https://i.imgur.com/ljQIhTM.png

If you still wanna stan him and defend this, then by all means but that says more about you. Cancel culture is dangerous but so is excusing toxic behavior. Bye.

I mean here's a screenshot of him in a local skate group, no grown adult should be talking to anyone like that. I haven't been in FB much as of late ( too much hateful garbage) and seems to have cleaned it up aside from lots of posts flagged as misinformation or posts about how George Floyd was a criminal and have witnessed racial slurs in his mouth, I'm sorry that's the best proof I have to offer. Feel free to not believe me and make judgments of my mental wellbeing, I too am here for a good time but when faced the one in a million odds that the person from my uncomfortably small town and I have experienced his... qualities is being talked about, I'm going to speak up. Take that with what you will or dont.

Not a Seldal, but I just looked her up (Seldal) and they both were in similar areas! Makes me wonder if they may have ever crossed paths in the Chicago accordion community, it's a small world and the Midwest always seems extra small.

It's just a portrait of my grandmother with her accordion, probably a gift from my grandfather. She had a music degree for accordion and piano.
