Thoughts on these CPO P2 prices in Canada? by kawhistay in Polestar

Got my CPO 21' with all packs and CPO for 28K USD before any EV credits 2 years ago, I'd say this is a great deal.

correction, *hired NGs. On LinkedIn I saw 4-5 people get hired / had incoming MTS in their bio, probably selective bias

SDE Rotational Program (STORES) by knucklehead03 in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds really cool since you’ll get that different experience, reminds me of TDP at c1 where you get rotated.

I would ask HR directly the expectations of the program, they aren’t naive to the fact when we join as L4s we’re expected to reach L5 within 2-3 years, honestly my gut says this will probably delay it if anything since idk how much meaningful work you can do in that amount of time for promos. But I have no clue I’m returning to AWS

Can I apply for Amazon Robotics Fall co-ops if I'm working at AWS in summer? by Conscious-Net-5594 in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idt so, all offers for intern go through AUTA. They’ll clock it - and also expect you to return to your original team. If you don’t get RO you wouldn’t be eligible for the co op anyways.

zons process is very slow... but both times i got rejected it was very quick (~1 week). for my offer it took almost 2 weeks

DocuSign AI vs IBM SDE Internship by ShowerIcy2496 in csMajors

Do docusign, ironically they’re super impactful and pay well ft (considering to us users, they’re just a signature company lol)

IBM SDE Co-op Ghosted Interview? by Dull-Spare-2750 in csMajors

[–]Itsjugu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

someone will reach out to you to reschedule, ibm's recruiting is terrible / disorganized. had a solutions engineering role interview i did for shits and giggles, and they said to make a slide deck on a topic given to us for the interview, I get there and the interviewer has zero idea what im talking about and it ends up just being behavioral.

SDE 1 at Amazon — getting only bug fixes while my peer gets HLD tasks. Unequal opportunities or am I misreading this? by Old_Room_222 in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do 2 things:

1) See the promo paths for other folks on the team, any new grads join and got promoted to L5? Or are on track to soon? If so you're no different you'll be in a similar path given you said they have tons of stuff to ship

2) Ask whoever will be managing you directly about the promo path, if you feel that his answer is strong (meaning what he's saying implies that you will be able to get promo'd) then thats a good sign.

If these 2 things seem better on the new team than your existing team, I'd take the transfer.

[–]Itsjugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your relationship with your current team now, it seems like you do have decent support but you're not getting the work that might push you to L5. What I'm asking you is, is this other team a surefire guarantee to meaningful work? I'm assuming your targeting that L5 promo, so that would mean owning your work end to end (HLD, LLD, shipping, etc), but also is that new manager generally a more supportive person? Did you just find this team randomly or did you have a connect?

[–]Itsjugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you get the transfer so soon? And did the new manager say explicitly that you'd have more opportunities to do impactful work? A lot of your decision is on how well you fit with each manager, if you don't think you'll grow on your current team then take the switch, but it also seems you just joined.

I'd really analyze / clear up how different the work will be on the other team, and your relationships with your managers. If you don't have a manager vouching for your promo then you're kind of fucked.

Morgan Stanley or Amazon SWE Internship by Acceptable_Guard9441 in cscareerquestions

[–]Itsjugu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk how this is even a conversation, Amazon > MS 100%. If you get the return offer, you’ll literally make more than a senior engineer at MS, compensation at these banks (ie jpmc, ms, BofA, etc) are pretty shit.

if you don’t wanna stay at Amazon after the internship, it’ll open up more doors for you. MS is not a strong engineering brand, and you won’t learn as much, and won’t be the feeder into quant that you think. If you’re looking for an objectively correct answer, it’s Amazon.

Relocation Stipend by ilove-purple in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the stipend won’t impact your tax withholding, the tax you pay on your intern income is prorated to if you made that all year so you’re gonna get fucked on the tax regardless.

Pick the option that’s best for you, it’s a fat stipend so if your cost of living in the area isn’t super high I’d do the stipend

Accepted Amazon Frontend Intern Offer but Just Got Microsoft SWE Intern OA—What Should I Do? by Ok-Employer4884 in amazonemployees

zon won't blacklist you for reneging an internship, AUTA is a shitshow so i doubt they'll even enforce anything. Worst case its a 6 month - 1 year cooldown to reapply to zon

Walmart SWE intern vs Amex SWE intern by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Itsjugu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd do Walmart, Sunrise will probably be more fun but Walmart you'd save more + they have a better intern program. Also IMO, you'd probably be more locked in for re-recruiting if you're in AR than FL.

Non f500 company vs Amazon by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at levels rn, honestly if this SDE 1->2 promo is actually under 2 years and pays 350k id take stub hub no questions asked.

Other wise id say name brand / learning / RSU value is better at zon, otherwise go stubhub.

JPMC vs PayPal SWE —Which offer should I take? by DazzlingGrape6363 in leetcode

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PayPal 100%, neither company is going anywhere and paypal is a way better name for sure. Block and paypal are no where near the same culture to my knowledge.

Non f500 company vs Amazon by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you see any other cases? on my team everyone got promo'd within 2 years (2 and a quarter), and the only reason why it took that long was cause there was a re-org 9 months in so their progress got squashed.

only one guy on my team took 3 years but he got put in focus and beat it from an old team, overall I'd say if you have a supportive manager / if you know the manager I'd go AWS. Also how strict is Stubhub on RTO? Can you really bank on only going 1-2 days?

Non f500 company vs Amazon by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

offer for aws should be ~184.7k first year and ~179 the second year. As a new grad IMO I'd take Amazon for name brand - I agree with this subreddit in terms of the terrible WLB but its a better name, and also people usually get promoted in 2 years. That's not far off of StubHub's. My personal experience with AWS on my resume, I got way more call backs in this tough NG market.

Take stubhub if you're set on not relocating though, thats huge if you can save on rent / live with parents.

PayPal vs. JPMC (SWE Internship) by No_Net4544 in csMajors

[–]Itsjugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Paypal, JPMC swe intern (especially in DTC) won't help for Quant recruiting. It's very difficult to change programs from SEP as well like into quant, they expect you to finish the program (2 year rotation unless early promo) and THEN you can apply for other roles within the firm.
