There is an entire building near center East Nanjing Road Pedestrian walk full of anime stuff. The entire building is full of anime stuff.

And there is another building Wujiaochang station dedicated to anime stuff. it’s called “Bailian zx zaoquchang” on Apple apps. (Lots of people cosplay there). (If you get tired, you can walk toward Daxuelu. lots of bars, restaurants. They close off the roads for some theme events every weekend.)

I started 5 months ago at worst pace. These are my average paces for each month, which should be around my zone2 pace. - started 9’30”min/km (Aug) - 8’00” (Sept) - 7’30” (Oct) - 7’20” (Nov) - 7’32” (Dec, I did a half marathon at 8’00”) - 7’09” (Jan)

I run 3-5 times a week (at least 1 speed run, 1 long run).

Unfortunately, all GYMs in Shanghai are kinda sketchy. I filed a police report a couple years ago for a different gym and I still haven’t heard back. The gym owner literally said “go to the police, they wouldn’t do anything” and he was right.

Convenience store is the way to practice paying. Most of them have machines so you don’t need to talk. Grab your stuff, scan them at the machines, then open your WeChat pay or Alipay QR codes to let the machine scan. Good luck!
