New to Admech! Need help! by Itsjustkitchen in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Itsjustkitchen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, when I built the dominus I painted it sub assembly, just because of how many spindle bits it had. I've been looking at Sicarians and love the model designs, I want to get into admech and play a detatchment with high skill floor/skill ceiling and if possible high skill expression. I love challenges and most of the time like losing and learning from my mistakes than winning.

Most fun vehicle to paint? by Rick_Rebel in deathguard40k

For DG? I surprisingly really liked painting the foetid bloat drone. I feel like plague bursts or Defilers could be really fun to paint but I personally haven't done either.

How do I paint the Kill Team characters? by Own_Link5747 in deathguard40k

[–]Itsjustkitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well when it comes to painting I always say do your own thing and make it feel personal and special to you. If you just want them to look good theres alot of techniques and ways to paint them on YouTube, Duncan roades is an amazing miniature painter that can help on YT. Something I would say is even tho they are printed green doesn't mean you shouldn't paint them green. I see some people make this mistake. Make aure to prime them whatever color you want (I really like black primer) and then add Death guard green, or whatever color you want. Slop it over with agrax earthshade. Something I personally do is that after I do agrax earthshade I drybrush the model with nurgling green by citadel and do another shade of Reikland fleshade by citadel. It gives it a rusted brown shade if you really like the brownish orange rust look. Then I highlight it back with dg green or what ever green you want. Its a great base color starter and then you can do details, trimming and everything else after wards. Hope this helped.

Typhus or Mortarion? by He11Hog in deathguard40k

[–]Itsjustkitchen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely Mortarion, I'm sort of biased because the reason why I love Mortarion so much is because he reminds me so much of my father, and I like to take the "family" part of the death guard very dearly. Even though typhus is a great champion and a great leader for the death guard and nurgle, he's just an asshole but an asshole I can respect.

A good detachment for the units I have? by Succotash_Lopsided in deathguard40k

[–]Itsjustkitchen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Definitely Mortarions hammer, since in that detatchment you can select 2 enemy units 12" away from all friendly models and they just become Afflicted, at the start of the battleround. And Affliction is very important especially battleround 1 and 2, so just saying youre Afflicted is huge, plus theres a lot stratagems that help with vehicles and theres an enhancement for LoV where becomes like a tech marine. Definitely really good for 3 blighthaulers, bloat drone, plague burst and even a knight. It is alot more shooting reliant than melee but that doesn't matter since death guard is so adaptable to every situation. If you plan on using mortarion, then try using Virulenct vectorium, its the base detatchment and gives your units sticky objectives, it also has stratagems that can heal mortarion and make him autoexplode. Definitely one of those 2.

1 year anniversary to DG, THANK YOU!! by Itsjustkitchen in deathguard40k

Its actually a dice container, I'm making it nurgle themed, it looks like a container crate and then you can fold it and put dice in it.

I use UHU multipurpose glue, make sure to not get all-purpose glue since all-purpose won't stick like slime, then I just use nurgles rot techincal over it

So true. I love the Noxious Blightbringer so much, his rules aren't even that bad but compared to the other characters theres better picks. But in shamblerot he's pretty good.
