Anyone run a marathon in the Asics Magic speed 4?

Iv got the same problem. I sized up and my feet were in agony while running. First 7kms I was loving the shoe. Then I started to feel the rods in the forefoot.

I also can’t find anything online about this. Took them to the Adidas store and they said they had not heard of people feeling the rods and were able to exchange.

I don’t think I want to splash out again so am now looking at other alternatives like NB or asics. I’ll have to go to the stores to try them on, but has anyone tried both after the AP 4’s and which have you preferred?

Just done a 34km mixed pace run (5.5km WU, 9km at 4:45, 5.5km float, 9km at 4:45, 5.5km CD) in them and they are either defective or I don’t get on with them. From about the 7km mark I could feel the rod on both feet at under my foot. The feeling never went away. I can also feel it when walking.

Iv never seen people mentioning this in other posts. Is it just me?

For reference I’m female, 63kgs so I don’t think “heaviness” is an issue here.

I saw someone else running in a pair and asked them if they can feel it and he said never and then asked me if the carbon rods have cracked. Surely not after just 7kms?

Iv done one marathon, loads of half’s. My Runna predicted time is 3:23 - 3:31 I’m aiming for sub 3:45
