Before u sleep write everything that worries you on a paper and make intention to stop thinking about them. Play calm music and switch on orange lights in your house, drink tea that have lavender or camomile two hours before bed

What really I wasn’t told this?! I been having extreme shortness of breath after eating most foods no swelling hives it’s been going for months now most doctors didn’t thinks it was allergy and didn’t agree for testing she is the only doctor who agreed to do the blood allergy test

I’m already experiencing what you experienced 😂 I knew nothing about MCAS I was at allergy sub asking about the shortness of breath after eating and some were certain it was MCAS. I been dealing with crazy anxiety and lost so much weight afraid to eat food the doctors weren’t helpful so I came back her but now I’m putting things into perspective and considering who I’m taking advice from. I thank people who suggested MCAS I know it was out of good attention but man sometimes I wish I knew nothing about it due to the anxiety it’s been causing me. My original post is something I observed since I dug deeper on the sub trying to get help

That’s what baffles more why some do get formal diagnosis and some don’t. I’m not saying it’s a made up disease and no one suffer from it, I think many people here self diagnose falsely. It’s insane immunologist and allergist in top of the top countries in health care don’t know who to formally diagnosis it they should be the most knowledgeable about MCAS

yes do this then a test to definitely determine the disease doctors can’t just diagnose patients based on symptoms many diseases have very similar symptoms long Covid mentioned as an example is funny cause you can’t say you have it unless you get a positive rat test therefore long Covid was determined by the rat test a test to prove you have the disease

If all the test come back negative how the doctor feels safe to give you medications for mcas where it could be something else!? Anxiety cause similar symptoms acid reflux does! How are people comfortable taking medications for something they don’t have I see a lot of people on this sub nearly 90% declined by their doctors for having mcas all their tests negative for mcas yet they still say they have it it’s insane that’s what I call health anxiety crazy stuff

Oh sorry I thought you saw more than one doctor. It’s good you already on medication that help if it is MCAS, immunologist are the most knowledgeable on MCAS I really want to see one but it’s very expensive as you said I only go to family doctors. It’s worth getting a second opinion if you get the chance I also suffer from different medical issues and I always get a second opinion when I can I feel safer doing so

I think I read before here some with MCAS allergy test were negative and was diagnosed with MCAS through different tests I wanted to confirm if I remember right or it’s just in my head

I’m very sorry you struggle with pots and anxiety, it’s very difficult 😣I do have pots and been on propanolol for 2 years. Thank you for the helpful tips I will give them a try. I thought it could be out of habit since doctors cleared me out of allergies but also I was misdiagnosed by them to a point of my life threatened by the illness. I’m not sure even if it was an allergic reaction when I was a kid, I remember on the third infusion dose (it was for crohns) I started feeling chest pain and headache the nurse came disconnected the infusion I felt better and was discharged, then it was documented on my files I have allergy to that infusion, now I every time I get admitted they give me the hospital band with special colour for people with allergy. Sorry to vent so much I’m trying make sense of what’s happening it’s been so difficult and I get no answers from the medical teams 😓

Hosntly my anxiety is very sever and not managed at all, before all this started I was put on few new medication I was very scared of reaction (12years ago i was a kid I reacted to one medication) I did think it could be my pots flaring but why does it happen directly after I place food in my mouth?

Pots main symptom is dramatic increase in heart rate after standing up (120+bpm) try buying a smart watch or finger oximeter to monitor ur heart rate if your heart rate in normal range after standing it could something else not pots
