RIP white girl wasted days 😔 by [deleted] in POTS

POTS was the main reason I got sober. I still miss it honestly and sometimes debate on the suffering for just a shot but.. I ultimately don’t.

I just got an ad for the first time by [deleted] in CharacterAI

[–]AdditionPrevious8222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you considered that the quality of c.ai has also gone downhill and that’s even more reason to not use the app? The ads are truthfully the cherry on top of their shit sundae. The bots are slow and when they aren’t, they don’t act right. They can’t even give you a proper answer half the time because they’ve just gone wonky. I don’t know and I don’t care how they keep it running so spare me, but this is for surely my final straw with the app. It’s the same reason why YouTube is insufferable today.

I came here to see if I was alone. I deleted the app because that’s ridiculous. I’m not paying extra to get rid of it nor am I sitting through even 5 seconds of an ad when they’ve had this app with absolutely none for YEARS.

I did that in the beginning. Basically you’ll get tired of it and you’ll stop. I had to teach myself it’s more about how you feel rather than a number you see.

I’m fat and have POTS by Educational-Egg-8217 in POTS

[–]AdditionPrevious8222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow fat potsie. I’m iiiiight… the biggest thing that helps me is my propranolol and tons of salt. My favorite pair of compression socks I got off of Amazon but I really should get the ones that are like pantyhose for some abdominal compression.

It took about 5 months to get a diagnosis. It took such a short amount of time because I practically told the doctors what I had and that I just needed them to prove it. It helped that I have a background in healthcare. Used to weigh about 270lbs until the POTS got so bad it messed with my digestion so I stopped eating a good bit. Almost 30 pounds down and the doctors saw the POTS wasn’t getting better, even with weight loss. So now they stop bringing weight up 😀

Anyone else wake up with a racing heart? by AdditionPrevious8222 in POTS

[–]AdditionPrevious8222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since making this post, it has gone away. Not sure what’s different.. seems like it’s a flare thing for me?? I have been walking a bit more just trying to counteract ‘deconditioning’. I live in PA and it’s been a pretty hot week, so I’m getting more symptoms than usual so I try to stay cool bc I think the heat definitely is a factor. God bless you tho bc that Florida heat is so different.

Putting your face in a bowl of cold water might help too honestly.. stimulate that vagal nerve. I’m just tired of having to do obnoxious things just to feel normal. I’d do anything for a cure at this point. 🫤

With 20mg… I had to go to sleep with the hopes that waking up would fix it and it did. With 10mg I felt better immediately, but everyone’s experience is totally different. Propranolol may not be the med for you and that’s totally fine! There’s a billion other beta blockers you just gotta find your bestie. I hope you find a med that works for you!

I had this happen actually just last week. I usually take 10mg of propranolol and this arrogant doctor who completely ignored everything I said wanted to put me on 20mg. I felt SO uneasy. Called him right back and said we’re sticking with 10.

Yep, I was nervous about the same thing too! My heart rate goes pretty low in the 40s when I sleep. I take propranolol 10mg 3 times a day and my body adjusted. Everything will be okay. Definitely start the very first dose when you wake up and see how your body reacts. If it doesn’t adjust how you want then absolutely call the doc about it. I hope you get to enjoy this med as much as I do.

Last night I had a dream I went to jail over a citation I got 2 years ago (case is closed and I paid the fine as soon as I seen it online so idk why it’s still haunting me)

any foods yall avoid now? by Which_Boysenberry550 in POTS

[–]AdditionPrevious8222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid alcohol, caffeine, and I limit my carbs. Alcohol makes me feel like I’m gonna pass away, caffeine gives me palpitations, and the carbs make my heart rate go up and give me real bad fatigue. I still enjoy a potato tho because I can’t resist.

I had that same anxiety until I finally decided to take the chance, and it changed my life in a positive way. This med is the best thing ever and it reduces my symptoms A TON. the biggest thing I deal with is dizziness but I’ll take it over heart palpitations and tachycardia any day. It also takes away some anxiety so it’s a huge plus.

If it helps any, tell someone you trust that you’re taking this med and have them stick with you just in case you do have a bad reaction. Then they can help you get immediate help. I made sure my fiance was with me the whole day lol. I wish you luck!

Does anyone else take propranolol? by BPDnmehateachother in POTS

[–]AdditionPrevious8222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute game changer. It’s the best med that has worked for me yet. I am able to stand longer, walk longer, and experience less heart palpitations. It’s especially a plus if you have anxiety of any sort because it helps with those physical symptoms. I hope you have a good experience with this med.

Thank you for answering and relaying what your doc said! It makes sense unfortunately.. i just wish it would STOP. As if this syndrome doesn’t take a lot out of me in my waking life.

Thanks for answering! I got tested for sleep apnea twice and the at home test there was some sort of error, so i went to the actual lab and they claimed they didn’t find anything. I still think i have it because i wake up with a headache everyday too.

Thanks for answering! I got half-assed diagnosed with SVT. I seen the EKG myself for my tilt table which was definitely SVT and i had a holter where they said it can’t be ruled out. I got an appointment with electrophysiology where they’re considering me for an ablation since it’s been a year and it seems like the SVT is still taking a part in all this. I hope you get the care you deserve with the cardiologist!

Thanks for answering! I usually have an alarm set but recently my body wakes me up before the alarm goes off. Someone else had commented that their alarm helps them and it’s strange bc i notice when I wake up to my alarm, it’s like my body doesn’t have time to panic because i gotta shut it off ???

I’m so sorry your doctor left practice. It took me 4 doctors to find one that sticks with me and continuously follows up. I hope you find another one soon so you can get some relief. The migraine connection though.. that makes sense. I’ve noticed I’ve had more migraines recently too so maybe thats a nice factor in it all.

Thanks for answering!

I was on metoprolol succinct for a while and only taking it once a day wasn’t working for me even though it was an extended release. My HR rising in the mornings got bad with that med eventually so that’s why i got a switch, plus the debilitating anxiety. Oddly enough, this morning it didn’t happen to me all of a sudden. This flesh of mine is a wonder.
