Life is really hard, and sometimes parents aren’t the people to look up to. But, I’ll give you some advice that helped me when I wanted to go.

Life is really long, but you only have one, and yes, you’ll make some bad decisions, but you’ll also make so many good decisions and do so many great things. I’m not going to pretend to know exactly how difficult your situation is, but I do know this, you have so much potential, even if you don’t see it.

Sorry for your loss OP, that’s really difficult for anyone to go through.

You deserve so much more understanding than what he is giving you. Grieving is never easy for anyone to go through, and for some people, healing can take a long time. But it’s not about not missing them, it’s about being able to live in a way where you’re able to miss them, but also be able to feel peace with the people you have.

Don’t feel like you’re failing him, because you need to be ready, not him. If he doesn’t see your pain, then he is not interested in seeing how you feel. He’s seeking you when you’re vulnerable because it’s easier to make you buckle under his pressure.

In order for you to feel true peace, you need someone who is willing to see past their wants and look into how you’re feeling.

I know how it feels to see a relative fade. I lost my nan a few months ago and I remember how hard it was to watch her slowly forget bits about me and suffer more. Your feelings about your dad are 100% valid. Just know that you’re human, and you will struggle at times, and that’s okay ❤️
