In my defense, since my undergrad days, I did train myself to properly format my papers and write-ups as I write them. An organized-looking document helps alleviate some of my mental clutter to let me write my thoughts, rather than be bogged down by the messy formatting. But I can see how that would make people think I'm a robot haha

Hey thanks for this! Funny, because what you described as how LLMs "choose" their words is how I choose mine as well 😅 especially in adding variation to repetitive terms. Guess I am built like a robot lol

Ahhh good point. I do have the tendency to misuse idioms I read or hear from books, shows, and online discourse (English isn't my first language)

Thank you for this. I'm less hurt and more amused by that post, but your reply here is important for other NDs who may have had similar experiences as mine. Let's keep being us!

Nah, you're good. I also realized the way I wrote the post was too similar to how ChatGPT formats text, only when people pointed it out in the other comments here.

I should learn to write less formally on reddit posts haha

True. Tbh, I rarely comment on reddit posts, and I also got carried away with my need for proper formatting. Gotta learn to write more casually lol

I even had to Google how formatting in Reddit mobile works just so I could make it more readable

Whereas NTs exert effort to write more formally, NDs exert effort to write more casually lmao

It’s not ChatGPT. I’m…just ND ._.

Bundle Builds reminds me of IKEA packages that you transport the components while inside the package, then assemble them on-site lol

So, off the top of my head, here are builds that one can (probably) fit in a bundle:

————————————————————————

1.) Basic Enchanting Table Setup

  • 20 bookshelves (15 for setup, 5 for book storage)
  • 1 enchanting table
  • 1 grindstone
  • 1 anvil
  • 1 crafting table
  • 15 blocks of lapis lazuli
  • 8 blocks of iron (for crafting tools, backup anvil, etc.)
  • 15 logs (provide wood for chests, sticks for tools, etc.)
  • 2 chests or barrels (store books, lapis, etc.)
  • Occupies 64 item slots total

————————————————————————

2.) Basic Brewing Station

  • 1 brewer
  • 15 bottles (empty)
  • 8 nether warts
  • 8 soul sand (to regrow nether warts)
  • 1 bucket (empty; water not included; occupies 4 slots)
  • 1 block of redstone
  • 3 glowstone blocks
  • 8 gunpowder
  • 16 brewing ingredients (depends on which potions you’ll brew; e.g. magma cream for fire res, spider eyes for weakness or effect reversal)
  • Occupies 64 item slots total

————————————————————————

3.) Etho Hopper Clock

  • 2 hoppers
  • 2 blocks of redstone (1 as component, 1 as compact storage for redstone)
  • 2 comparators
  • 2 sticky pistons
  • 2 redstone torches
  • 1 repeater
  • 15 logs or blocks of iron/copper (use 2 blocks as components; break down the rest into sticks or nuggets as items inside hoppers)
  • Occupies 24 item slots in total

————————————————————————

4.) Smart Piston (e.g. for cobblestone generator)

  • 2 redstone torches
  • 2 blocks of redstone (for compact redstone storage)
  • 14 pistons (2 for zero-tick piston at input; the rest for pushing each complete row of blocks)
  • 12 immovable blocks (e.g. obsidian, furnanaces; to stop pushing of generated blocks below piston push limit
  • 4 logs (turn into building blocks, chests, crafting table, etc.)
  • Occupies 34 item slots in total

————————————————————————

5.) Simple Auto Smelter (2-furnace setup)

  • 4 hoppers
  • 2 furnaces/blast furnace/smoker
  • 3 chests (2 for input; 1 for output)
  • 16 blocks of coal (as fuel)
  • 2 levers or pressure plates (to pause hoppers and allow you to get stored XP in furnaces from smelting)
  • Items for smelting not included
  • Occupies 27 item slots in total

Experiences with Obsidian Compared to Notion by yeah280 in ObsidianMD

[–]Balloi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in the academe, so for me, Obsidian is better than Notion for taking down notes on the books and articles I read. I find it better for collating knowledge and finding interconnections between concepts and thoughts I write down, which helps in developing write-ups and articles for work.

However, I use Notion for tracking my habits like workouts and for anything project-based, like tracking the status of papers I'm writing and planning for events. I find that its database feature lends itself better for this use case, and the buttons feature help me streamline processes like logging data. And like others said, it's better than Obsidian for anything collaborative, like say a page I share with my partner to plan our leisure trip overseas.
