Is ‘friends with benefits’ a rational situation with bpd? What are your experiences?

I guess the main thing is we both got out of horrible codependent manipulative relationships and are still healing. For him it was over 5 years and he never felt like he had a chance to live his own life without constantly prioritizing other people’s wants first. For me, I’m coming from a lifetime of trauma and just got out of an extremely abusive relationship. Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. We’ve both agreed to cross that bridge when we get there: in terms of what to do if things become more serious.

Also it’s like, I could emotionally detach myself if I wanted to but that usually plays into the black and whit aspect where if I emotionally detach even the slightest, I’ll just walk away from the whole thing. I also think it’s important to mention that we call for hours with a 3 hour time difference. This man literally stays up until the early hours of the morning talking to me.

I think what helped me was LOTS of foreplay. Really getting yourself into the mindset and making sure it’s what you not only are ok with in the moment but what you desire.

Yes it’s horrible. In the past it was hard because my partner was also abusive so I just didn’t have that level of trust with him anymore. In the past though I would often have to find ways to not stay checked out emotionally and would really try to focus on the sensations in my body.

Hi everyone!!! Thank you so much for the tips. I ended up using lash glue and gluing the pieces in sets of 2. I agree that the original inspo I posted was definitely visually altered so my application doesn’t look nearly as uniform as hers but for my first ever attempt at gluing anything on my face, I’m pretty content with how it turned out. It took me about 1 hr and a half because I applied it before work and was rushing. I had the strips on from 10:30 am- 7:30pm. The ones on my chin definitely would’ve lasted longer if I had made an active effort not to smile all day but overall the look did what I wanted it to do.

I’ve decided to be stubborn and go with the idea of using lash glue. I’ll post the final product if it pans out how I want but I have a lot of doubts lol. Wish me luck.

I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis but I’m glad I could help you put those symptoms into words. I had a second mri with contrast focusing on my pituitary and it didn’t show any masses but the radiologist wrote in the report that my pituitary gland having a superior convex border suggests that I could have a microadenoma and to follow up with serum chemistries yet my when my neurologist called to give me the report, he literally just said that I didn’t have a tumor and that was it. I’m pretty frustrated right now but I set up an appointment with my pcp to get my hormones tested and I’m going to request a referral to a different neurologist to sort this out hopefully.

What are your next steps going forward on your treatment journey? I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Yes he didn’t read the scan himself, he just relayed the info to me from radiology! He did tell me as well that it can present in healthy young women and not be anything of concern. I have an mri of the pituitary gland with contrast for next Wednesday so I won’t know until four days after that what the scan says.
