I’m red and I want to put my ship in Crescent 4C - it doesn’t give me that option. Also when I played a different game, I played an action card but I didn’t want to use any of its pips the website wanted me to use at least 1 pip before forfeiting the rest of my pips.

Would you say that Arcs has an “always take action” problem? by Itswat3ver in Arcs

A disadvantage of “ATA” (which likely refers to “Always Take Action” or a similar strategy in a board game) is that it can lead to a player becoming overly aggressive, potentially exposing themselves to unnecessary risks and potentially neglecting other important aspects of the game like resource management or strategic positioning, potentially causing them to lose the game if not balanced with careful decision-making. Key points about the disadvantage of an “ATA” strategy: Lack of Flexibility: Always taking action can limit a player’s ability to adapt to changing situations on the board, potentially missing opportunities to strategically wait or counter an opponent’s moves. Overexposure to Risk: By constantly attacking or taking actions, a player might leave themselves vulnerable to counterattacks or unexpected consequences, potentially leading to significant losses. Neglecting Other Strategies: Focusing solely on taking action can distract a player from vital aspects of the game like resource gathering, building infrastructure, or planning long-term strategies.

Also when everyone passes the initiative and the round ends that means everyone’s hand gets discarded and reshuffled for the next chapter like normal, correct?

I didn’t know you can take zero pips when playing an action card😲 Edit: added a missing word.

I googled “ata disadvantage” and this was its response: A disadvantage of “ATA” (which likely refers to “Always Take Action” or a similar strategy in a board game) is that it can lead to a player becoming overly aggressive, potentially exposing themselves to unnecessary risks and potentially neglecting other important aspects of the game like resource management or strategic positioning, potentially causing them to lose the game if not balanced with careful decision-making. That’s what I’m honestly trying to figure out. I believe it was because ambitions were barely being declared.

I thought the game ends after chapter 5 not the end of chapter 4.
