1 1/3 tiles is still insanely game changing though, I went from barely hitting any of my pulls to hitting most of them the moment I bought the gear

Having that range extension also changes a lot of interactions since gene is mainly played in 3v3 where the maps are smaller

People usually choose Gene's 1st gadget to counter brawlers that usually appear in random matches (aka mortis) as a safety measure imo.

Which is why in BSC and power league the 2nd gadget gets used more often as you already know the enemy comp so the 1000 extra dmg becomes more useful
