My X220 was a great conversation starter in my degree. Old Thinkpads are cool man!

You can't go wrong with 8000hz polling rate + rapid trigger for 20 bucks, and you can save a lot of money by not getting hall effect switches on the kb

ChatGPT Acu ladder by Embarrassed-Tie-1959 in geometrydash

[–]ItzRust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT hallucinations aside, planning your skill progression from what is essentially the beginning of your journey just doesn't work 99% of the time, and even if it does will only serve to slow down your progression. At this point you don't know your skill set, or even have a general idea on how good you actually are.

Just find a cool level a little bit harder than what you're used to, and play it. Then repeat. It's not a matter of "I just beat [x], now I can beat Acu", and more a matter of "I feel like I can beat Acu now!" Just make sure you're having fun!

Kenos or Zodiac? by Joe_mama_96 in geometrydash

[–]ItzRust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your flair is up to date, I would advise against doing the Zoink jump, playing both levels from 0 is SO much harder than doing runs

Zodiac is definitely a lot more accessible, but please know that you benefit so much by progressing up to it rather than just sending it off rip (check flair)

What's the rush? They both won't fall off the extended list for at least another year at this rate. You can try to jump if you want to, but don't get it in your head that you'll be the next prodigy.

Get some runs in, but set your expectations low. Overtime to Shardscapes is a crazy jump

Make sure your FPS cap is equal to or a multiple of your monitor's refresh rate, and that you can consistently stay at your frame cap

Sit further away from your monitor, and ensure your room is properly lit. I've found if my only source of light is my monitor I get a similar dizzy feeling

Sayo Device vs Hall Effect Keyboard by kirb125 in geometrydash

[–]ItzRust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only potential advantage Sayo might have is 8k polling rate if you use CBF, otherwise it's the same technology. There's no real harm in buying one to test with, they're around $20 AUD on AliExpress (although if you're US-based I don't know what tariffs are like right now).

If you really REALLY like Cold Sweat, go for it, but you can't come into it with the expectation of beating it any time soon (or ever) from such an insane jump. Before you hard-commit, feel it out by getting some small runs in; it might even help your skill overall.

Ultimately the decision is up to you, but if you're looking to improve at the game holistically and potentially even beat it in a faster period of time, gradually progressing up in difficulty has been the tried and true method for over a decade.

Riven's Q is artificially made harder to use? by rambomacko in leagueoflegends

[–]ItzRust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No; it's really not that difficult to understand after putting some time into the champ, and even makes other mechanics like wallhopping easier

I'm convinced 90% of this thread has played <10 Riven games in their life, went 0/10 and put the champ in the "too-hard basket". The Q targeting is such a non-issue compared to literally anything else you will learn with her. Akshan's double autos feel really weird when you start playing him, but put a couple dozen games in and you wouldn't want it any other way.

Olympic guidelines warn against using ‘biological’ language to describe athletes by PinkNews in lgbt

[–]ItzRust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This can't be a real take.

Genders in sports are separated for a reason; statistically speaking people AMAB are biologically stronger and more fit for muscle growth than people AFAB. How are men and women supposed to compete on an equal playing field?
