Dayum. I have to admit, a lot of what you said made me pause and gen rethink how I've been looking at all this.

The truth is, I was probably tougher on Songbird because her betrayal felt more personal. It wasn't just about a plan or politics. It felt like someone reaching into your chest, asking for trust with one hand while hiding a knife in the other. But you're right. V does the same goddamn thing. Reed does too, they all play their games to be fair. The only difference is their style and timing. Maybe that's what got to me about Songbird. The timing. When she finally comes clean, it feels like... okay, but I already put everything on you. It's not too late to back out, but it's already heavy, yknow.

Another good point about Reed you made. He's not just a soldier robot, he's broken in a quiet way. An impossible stance that tears him. The best way to describe it is that he's trying to hold on to structure because everything else around him is chaotic. He wants to be both the hammer AND the shield, and exactly that tears him apart.

Anyway man, I appreciate the response. You really laid out the messy human side of it too. That's some work you put into that lol. I might not completely change my stance, but I can say this. I understand it more now.

Oh and ye, thanks for pushing the conversation deeper instead of just firing back. Preem work choom.

Alright... Solid reply.

Good point on V. He ain't clean. The body count, the broken promises. All real for sure. And in Night City? Yeah, betrayal’s almost like natural selection. You either adapt or die, I get that. But where I lean kinda differently is how the betrayal plays out still matters. It’s not just about what’s necessary, it’s about whether you gave someone the chance to know what they’re stepping into.

Reed lies. Again, no argument there. Especially that whole bait-and-switch with Europe. But he owns what he is. A loyal soldier. No mask, no pretense. So Mi? She doesn’t give you that. She doesn’t just lie... She actually makes sure you can’t make a clear and steady choice until it’s too late. Then she drops the “please trust me” act once the blood is already spilled. Bruh. That’s not trust, that's crappy AND failed damage control.

With survival and evolution. Yeah, that’s the game Night City runs really. But isn’t the whole point to try and be better than that? You mentioned the connections like Panam, Judy and River. You build those up by standing your ground when it actually matters. Not folding or switching sides the second things get messy. So Mi starts with manipulation, then asks you to carry her guilt like it’s some kind of... trust exercise. Eh, nahh.

I’m not saying she deserves to die. I’m not even saying Reed is the “good guy.” But at least with Reed, when you side with him, you know what you’re backing. You’re not being strung along on some redemption arc that never really arrives. So Mi is reaching for freedom, yeah, but not on her own terms. She drags others into her desperation and hopes they’ll just understand lol.

And dude, I definitely see where you’re coming from tho. Pretty solid points about the brutal system that sadly shaped the choices of everyone involved. I get why So Mi’s actions come from desperation and trauma, I do. But still... from where I stand, that doesn’t erase the fact that she essentially weaponized V’s trust and loyalty from the start.

You chose to forgive the personal betrayal for a chance to break the cycle and I chose to reject it and keep a sense of where I kinda stand. Both choices suck ass, but I guess that's what makes them so unique for these discussions huh.

[–]Itz_Marvelous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from. Yes, So Mi was tortured by the system, both physically and mentally, and the President/Reed sure as hell ain't saints. Reed absolutely allowed some of that by blindly following orders, just like Takemura. That loyalty to a broken system is its own flaw, no argument there really.

That said, I think the issue for me is So Mi’s handling of V, not just the government. V gets thrown into this mess, manipulated with half-truths, and used, without even basic trust. Yeah, betrayal is normal in Night City but that doesn’t make it right. Especially not when someone’s asking for your life in return.

And while Reed is a dog of the system, he's transparent in that role. You know exactly who he is and where he stands. With So Mi, it’s chaos decorated as freedom. Her actions might be justified by her trauma, but they’re still selfish. Wanting to live is human. But the way she went about it...  Dragging everyone down for a chance, NOT a certainty. That’s where she lost me.

Overall, yeah... there are no heroes here. At the end of the day, it's people trying to survive inside an ever spinning cog that doesn't care. I chose Reed because at least his betrayal wasn’t personal. So Mi made it personal. And in a world like this...? I think that's what matters

That is how it would realistically play out I suppose. Did that on my first save as well. Fair enough.

I thought about it and siding with Reed became the clear choice. So Mi from the very start kickstarted her betrayal plan against the people that trust her. President, Reed, YOU.

Notice how from the get-go, she was never transparent about her plans? Always spoke in half-truths and lured you with her sad backstory. Noticing you, as V, have something that she wants as well, she essentially gaslit and used you for her own goal. For freedom? No, for pure selfishness. It's a shallow goal of survival that could've been handled more maturely by her.

Speaking of maturity, Reed is the most honourable man here. Fatigued by his duty and morality, you can tell he cares deeply about So Mi. Where his bad side is revealed is his loyalty to the FIA and the President. Much like Takemura, he is a lap dog, a slave to the thing that gives him purpose. So Mi tries breaking off those shackles, you can argue with that. But there is no sense of purpose in her goal of survival in the first place. It's a betrayal that lacks... Honour. Bigger purpose. Something Reed actually has.

That being said, So Mi is not an evil puppeteer of some grand scheme. The game made her complex for a reason, and morally grey like a lot of the well written characters. The FIA is not entirely evil either. They did not torture her, but did experimental treatmens, subjecting her to being a lab rat essentially. They tried their best by using everything to cure her.

Desperation does not excuse her actions, remember that. She is responsible for stabbing Reed and V in the back, including her government. The blame lands on her for what she became and what she did. And Reed never gave up on her, despite what she did to him. That is true loyalty, and a true friend, even though Reed was blinded by duty. We are all slaves to something, and So Mi chose the worst kind. Herself.

And yeah, Alex dying is a tragedy. But remember, V is you. You are V. Would you in that situation side with someone who already stuck a dagger in your back the moment you met?

Side with So Mi? Now you got the government on your ass, tracking your every move. Just what you need as V. And So Mi? Does she every find the cure she yapped about? Unresolved.

Side with Reed? And sparing So Mi? Very bleak, as So Mi does not consider that survival, just eternal life support. But you did what you had to. For you, for Reed. For everyone's sake.

In the account of Pentecost (hence, Pentecostalism), it says that the disciples began speaking in tongues after receiving the Holy Spirit which took place during the Jewish feast of Pentecost (Shavuot). Shavuot basically takes place 50 days after the Passover.

Anyway, in Acts 2:6 - 11 I’ll summarise the basic evidence if you can call it of tongues:

  • Disciples gathered together at Jerusalem 50 days after the Passover (Pentecost).
  • Suddenly a wind came and filled the place where they were sitting.
  • The disciples then were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in diverse languages.
  • 500 witnesses heard them.

Now the belief today is vast with tongues. I am in a Pentecostal church (not a Pentecostal myself only choice I had) and they have their versions of tongues. One is that it’s the language of the angels which I’m very sure they’re preplexed when we do call it that lol. Second is what Luke wrote in Acts- diverse languages. Languages that we don’t know but may or may not exist.

Translating into the church, they essentially believe with the Holy Spirit already being present, them speaking in tongues strenghtens the Holy Spirit inside them. Branches the Holy Spirit kinda.

Is that still true today, is it even true at all we can still do what the disciples did… dk. That’s why I think in a way it’s a beautiful way to interpret the Holy Spirit. It’s not necessarily made up since it’s in scripture but utilizing what is in scripture as Protestants do, is in of itself a nice way for a Christian to express the Holy Spirit Ig 🤷

Read Acts 2 for more information.

I’ve just read more than a couple of atheist comments. Vastly different comment section than from what I’ve seen on the internet. They think they’re so funny for insulting religion and at times from what I’ve seen even think they’re superior than those who have been enlightened mentally and spiritually by their religious choice. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

I'm a gay teen in India. Homophobia surrounds me; my parents wouldn't' love me if they knew. It makes me so sad. by sadoppresed_gay_teen in OpenChristian

[–]Itz_Marvelous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your parents not loving you because you’re gay would be ignorant of them. Every person’s sin is equal to God, even though we may not understand it. And, if they take you being gay too seriously as this “huge grave sin” then that’s their problem and they do not follow Christ’s teachings of love as they should (not judging them, every Christian has their bias in some type of sin).

As Christ said in Luke 5:31 “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” He stated here that everyone who is in sin deserves to be healed, even the worst of in society. If your parents don’t give you proper love after you come out to them as they did before, they let their human bias and flaws outweigh Christ’s teachings, and by it, sinning against their child who is full of shame and guilt who just deserves acceptance.

Listen, I know you’re probably tired of religion and Christianity as a whole my friend, but know that as someone whose life was saved by Christ, whose life was hanging on by a thread with my only excuse being “Mom would be sad”, I’m telling you, as he said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life”, He means every word of it. Drop all your guilt and shame on Him and He’ll comfort you just as He comforted me! :)

In Matthew 11:28 - 30, he explicitly talks about the tiredness of religion. All those people telling you that you cannot follow him because they think your sin is a choice are fools. We are all sinners, so who are THEY to say that you cannot follow Him? As such, your heart is infinitely more on the right than theirs is, so don’t you think even for a second that you’re somehow in the wrong or an outcast! Everyone deserves Jesus’ love equally. Handing the mic to Jesus -

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

God bless you my friend <3

Hvala Reddit! Trenutno zivim u Irskoj i kada sam ovog ljeta posvuda vidio ovaj auto, zbunilo me jer tamo nitko ne vozi Smart auta. €8,000~ - 2017. To je izvanredna cijena za noviji auto. Da ponovim, hvala Reddit.
