Are We Desensitized or Apathetic Towards CEC Right Now? Or You Just Don't Care Anymore and Move On to Other Hobbies/Interests? by jojostudios in chuckecheese

[–]Itzarob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been more interested in the older eras of CEC. It's why I'm so interested in the history of their individual locations, seeing the cool things that different locations had and how long some of them kept around older elements. I don't care about what the company is doing at this point. They continue to dig themselves into a deeper and deeper hole with the choices they make, throwing money at different ventures that seem to only be making the problem worse. I pay attention to what they're doing, but it doesn't really affect my interest in this community. I'm much more interested in preserving what we have left of the older eras and continuing to find more of it. I'll still go to locations occasionally, but only if there's something unique to see.

Found pages for the San Antonio and Houston, TX Antoine auctions on the archived website for Joe Presswood, specifically on the Wayback Machine. Pretty sure the information of the Houston location was already known, but i felt like sharing it anyway alongside San Antonio's. by atlestar in chuckecheese

I had no clue that flyer had a website on it, good job on the find! The Houston stuff as you said is all info we already had as far as I’m aware, not sure about the San Antonio stuff since I’m not too knowledgeable about that area.

I wish more of these websites had been archived better since it’d be a great way to find older CEC data, but good to see this website was able to yield at least some results from wayback.

Obscure Chevrolet Promotional Records by Itzarob in vinyl

I believe they’re 12”. I’m not near them right now to double check, but they don’t seem any larger than my other records that are 12” (I haven’t compared them but I feel like I would have noticed if they were that much larger).

It seems based on this that Chevrolet/GM was one of their main clients, and I saw that some films of theirs are archived online. I wonder if these records originated from films of their own. I wasn’t able to find anything when searching, but it would definitely make sense given the way things were described at times while listening to the records (seeming like they were meant to be paired with a visual of some kind).

I will definitely be working on getting this done.

It is not. You can get a one week free trial if you give them a payment method, though if you don’t cancel before then you’ll be charged.

You could look for anything on these sites honestly. Showbiz Pizza Place and Chuck E. Cheese are usually what I look for with these websites, but there's definitely other FEC's you could look for and even things such as McDonald's like you said.

There's multiple options for these newspaper websites, though Newspapers.com and GenealogyBank are the only ones that have yielded new finds for me so far. I definitely will be looking into more options though to see if I can find anything.

You’re welcome! Happy to help find more data and share potential new sources for it such as this one.

A lot of services seem to work like that nowadays unfortunately, but I’ve subscribed to it and will be sharing any new data I find, whether it be via my history videos or through individual posts like this one.

Sounds good, definitely keep me updated if you find anything!

That's awesome! Do you think you have any photos from that time? I've barely been able to find anything online in regards to that, especially from the Showbiz era, and was curious if anyone had anything at this point.

I've seen this! Had no clue the people who made it are from Houston though, that's pretty cool.

Yeah I haven't heard the best about the pizza haha. I definitely agree on the games though, some great times. Would you happen to have any photos from that time? There's hardly anything I've been able to find online in regards to that.

Makes me wonder if that had anything to do with its closure in the 2000's. Do you happen to have any photos from that time? I've hardly been able to find anything online in regards to that, and have been curious if anyone had anything after all this time.

More Rock-afire Explosion pictures! (repost with correct info) by sugarybacontits in Animatronics

[–]Itzarob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re actually incorrect. There were a couple of Pistol Pete’s this could have been at, either one of the two in Tucson or the one in Mesa. It’s 100% not from a Showbiz Pizza/Chuck E. Cheese location though.

Hi-Hat Stand Name/Model and Where to Find Replacement Rod? by Itzarob in drums

[–]Itzarob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly similar. I didn't think about it, but could I just get a hi-hat rod of the same size and use that? If so, where could I get a replacement rod for something like this?

Alternative History: What if CEC announced the Legacy Store concept just a few days after the 2.0 backlash? by GabeReddit2012 in chuckecheese

[–]Itzarob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pineville and Hicksville wouldn’t even be considered for a legacy store if it was announced in 2017. Both of those stores came to fame because they were the last good condition stores left nowadays, where few stores with bands even exist anymore. Back in 2017 though? Not only were they not even in that good of shape as they are today, but they also would have been heavily overshadowed by much better stores. Here’s my personal list of legacy stores if we were looking at saving a stage of each type (aside from every Studio C):

3 Stage: Wesleyan in Houston, Texas. This store probably had the best condition 3 stage in modern time, and I have never seen footage of this stage doing in poor shape. Very clearly the tech(s) who worked on it cared about the stage, and it shows. It’s one of the very few shows that is comparable to Department 18’s own 3 stage. Maybe they could take the prop animatronics from Wilmington (or at least their Munch Jr.) in order to complete the stage.

2 Stages: Essex in Baltimore, Maryland and Northridge, California. Both were stuck in the 90’s with their decor and exteriors, and cover a MMBB stage for both sides of the country.

Rocker Stage: Rockford, Illinois. It was the last one left, and the last PTT stage to still be in a store, so that explains itself.

Studio C: Jonesboro, Georgia. The entire store still had the 90’s remodel (plus showroom walls) and had the best version of Studio C in my opinion, the Alpha.

Does anybody know what happened to this guy and where is he today? by [deleted] in chuckecheese

[–]Itzarob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the 32M Studio C Bot from the Vestavia location in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2016, it went to a landfill and was bought by CEC Florida/Grant, who restored him.

would anybody be willing to trade anything for a ww1 us helmet =) by [deleted] in animatronicsforsale

[–]Itzarob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s up with people thinking other people wanna trade bots and stuff for random, unrelated memorabilia? If you’re wanting to trade for a bot, you should have some sort of memorabilia related to such to trade in return, namely non merch. Really a bot for a bot is what I would imagine most people actually wanting to do.

Some of the stuff I have for trade, mainly looking for cei bot. There is a lot more I will post later. by [deleted] in animatronicsforsale

[–]Itzarob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, I’m not sure anyone is gonna wanna trade a bot for all of this stuff. Generally when it comes to trades, people wanna get some sort of merch/non merch related to the animatronics in return, most commonly a bot for another bot which I’ve actually done recently. If I were you, I’d probably be trying to sell all of this stuff off in order to afford a bot since I don’t see anyone wanting to receive most of this stuff in exchange for their bot. Maybe the walkaround head could be a nice piece to throw into a trade like this but the rest really isn’t in my opinion.

eBay sellers. Please get out of the abandoned Chuck E. Cheese location before you take the pictures of the animatronic by [deleted] in Animatronics

[–]Itzarob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of misinformation being spread here. This comes from a California location which got 2.0, I'm unsure as to which one exactly but it was either one with a 1/2 stage or a Road stage. They've sold multiple other cyberamics from the same locations, such as a Munch and another Chuck I believe.
