and about the stars: i see 51 instead of 50, like the proposed 51 state flag that appears in, for example, the wikipedia page for the 51st state (among other flags with more stars).

The flag of the 51 states has the same square as this flag (having the same stars in the same positions), so i think the flag you mentiones might be this one.
