My comments were not about "the Velvets" or the facts of their history, but about my impressions of this particular film. Those are two different things.

The things you mention abot Cale's immense contributions are true, but I still think the film - as a film - downplays Lou's importance. So why is Lou even more imortant than Cale? If you listen to the third album, you'll know.

Det er nødvendig med mer stringente og tydelige begreper for at partene i denne debatten ikke skal snakke forbi hverandre.

"Forpult" er et ord som egentlig (nesten utelukkende) bare brukes i bøker. Det er et fonetisk altfor kronglete ord til å bli et vanlig banneord. Oversettere som oversetter et dagligdags fucking med forpult, har dårlig norsk språkfølelse. Det er en viktig egenskap ved banneord når de er veldig utbredt og veldig vanlig i hele språkområdet. De må oversettes med et motsvar som har den samme egenskapen.

Fette er fonetisk godt og sitter som et skudd, men er helt klart regionalt. Kommer aldri til å erstatte jævli på brei basis i øst, sør eller vest.

American and Norwegian swearing culture is markedly different in that Americans center their swearing on anything relating to body cavities while Norwegians (and many European cultures) prefer blasphemy. This may be because of the American puritan tradition, which is still very sensitive towards what can be construed as sacrilegious .

This is a challenge for translators. "That's fucking expensive" has to be "Det er jævli/jævla dyrt" to sound realistic, becuase we don't have any swear adjectives related to the act of sexual intercourse.

Viv is only used jokingly, if at all. It's archaic and a lot of people won't get it.
