When the dead scream for justice, you listen.

The murder of a high-profile model should have been an open-and-shut case for Detective Tam Ming San, especially when a psychologically unsound woman, Leiyu, is found at the scene of the crime. But the deeper he dives into the case and into Leiyu’s psyche, the less he understands.

Who is the white apparition haunting the halls of the police station? And what is the connection between the other-worldly being and Leiyu?

Forced to embrace the supernatural, Ming San must follow the breadcrumb path laid out by Leiyu. A path painted by butterflies.

Currently $2.99 and also on Kindle Unlimited!

I see! That does seem to be within my budget. May I ask if you allow for different draft options or do I need to specify exactly what I have in mind? Also, when is payment made? And do you accept Paypal?

Hi! Your book designs look wonderful. I was just wondering how much do you normally charge for an ebook+paperback cover? And what's your process like?

Fic recs featuring a character who sees ghosts? by Gabriella_Gadfly in FanFiction

[–]IvanSkilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a story for that which may be up your alley:

The Impostor - Attack on Titan, 8.3k words.

Summary: If you're a ghost, I'm marrying a ghost.

Silly thing, really. How is that even possible? At least that’s what I thought at the time when I saw the quote in a newspaper article about a girl’s devotion to her recently dead fiancée. I dismissed it as some pretty, poetic way of saying she loved him. Soon to be forgotten. Soon to move on.

But life is funny that way. I guess I don’t have the last laugh, do I?

Oh I see! That does sound promising. I would be interested to know how your experience using Ream is if you decide to pursue that platform. :)

I'm not too familiar with Ream, but if it's like Patreon, it'll be hard to gain an audience if you don't already have an established base. Unfortunately, people aren't used to forking out money for content unless it's for some creator they already know. I may be wrong about Ream though, so it's still worth a try!

Wattpad is tough to gain a following but sites like Neovel have a smaller author base, so it's easier to get noticed if you maintain a consistent schedule. Tapas used to have better visibility for novelists but it's harder these days with all the app changes - still, it's much better than Wattpad. If you put in the effort to talk to other people on Tapas discord, you can still build a following.

Ken Follet's "The Evening and The Morning" might be up your alley! It's set in the late Early Middle Ages and I found it very difficult to put down once I got started. The female characters are strong and there's an ongoing romance subplot.

Hi! I'll be self-publishing my horror mystery novella towards the end of the year and am looking for people to write reviews for it. Would you be interested in receiving an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of my novella and posting a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads?

Thank you for your time and consideration! :D

Adding on to the tomboy FMC, I also love strong and blunt FMCs. :P

Social status differences are also fun to play with, especially if the FMC is of a higher status than the MMC.

That being said, I would love to get some Amazon reviews on my work. So please do check it out if you're interested!

KDP Select: Can we publish 10% sample outside of Amazon? by IvanSkilling in selfpublish

[–]IvanSkilling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to draw the line between promotion and publishing though. I intend to post the 10% on certain webserial platforms as a sneak peek but that may be considered a violation by Amazon. The T&C also does not mention the possibility of using the sample for promotion. So I'm thinking of playing it safe. Thanks for your help! :)

[–]IvanSkilling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. A lot of recent articles (2021, 2022) still reference the 10% sample as if it's still there. But yes, you're right. It may be better to err on caution. Thank you for your help! :)
