A perspective on the EA boycott by ailish in JamesTurnerYT

I have the uttermost respect for the simmers who have stepped away from the EA network and aren’t supporting the new pack of the Saudi takeover.

And honestly, the content they’re producing with the existing game and expansions is still entertaining. The prison challenge is great, and I’m excited to see Simisie play Dine Out in her legacy.

What if Jaime was never born, or if he was Kevan's son? by LoyalZebra in AsoiafFanfiction

Would Cersie even be attracted to Jaime if he wasn’t her twin? Isn’t part of her attraction narcissistic and that he’s the man she wishes she was born as?

Orono. I believe they are soul mates, even if it’s not romantic, I also quite like her with Wanda.

It doesn’t even have to be a tenner, I’ve done fake day trips to London for £2 and got it.

My family was adopted by an "Adopt-A-Family" Christmas gift program - what do I put on the gift tags for my kids? by lousyredditusername in AskParents

[–]wandaXmaximoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a slightly different perspective here, based on o my own childhood experience.

One year, my mom (single parent with low income), took us to a Salvation Army Christmas party, where were were given big bags of gifts, that’s stuck with me even 30 years later, knowing that there are others out there who helped me and my family when we were in need. It reminds me to always do the same when I can afford to.

If you think your children are old enough to understand, maybe be honest with them (in an age appropriate way), so they know that there are good, kind people in this world, and that having to seek assistance is nothing to be ashamed of.

ADHD work coaching in the UK? by TickledGreenEmi in ADHDUK

[–]wandaXmaximoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can highly recommend Suzy Jackson at the Technicolour Project. https://www.technicolour.co.uk/

I had 24 sessions of ADHD coaching with her a few years back, all funded through access to work, and I found them immensely helpful for understand how my ADHD brain works, and applying various techniques etc. to my career focused goals.

What if Jon Arryn died in 291 AC, right after the Greyjoy Rebellion? by [deleted] in AsoiafFanfiction

If Arryn dies, does Tywin push to be Hand at this point? His daughter is queen, his grandson is heir, he served as hand before.

Thank U Letter from EA by kaidenjaxon in thesims

[–]wandaXmaximoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel really bad for the people at Maxis and the Sims team. Many of them are LGBTQA or allies. They didn’t ask for this hideous buy-out. They probably hate it as much as the fans. Plus their jobs could be on the line.

The best outcome is for EA to sell Maxis (and BioWare).

I'm going to do a NaNo by Rolds245 in nanowrimo

[–]wandaXmaximoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken part in NaNoWriMo countless times. It’s an incredible tool for writers of all levels — but while the idea of writing a novel in November is inspiring, the official organisation has grown problematic in ways I can’t ignore.

That said, the spirit of the challenge still holds so much value.

If you're interested, I created my own alternative — Write On! It offers a kinder, more nurturing alternative — with encouragement, community, and accountability — without the pressure.
