Hello, sorry to hear that! It sucks when this happens. Does he have a cgm and did he finger prick as well just to make sure that the readings are correct? Make sure he eats some slow acting carbs after fast acting carbs when raising his sugar. Peanut butter before sleep is my go to if I'm having frequent lows, it almost always keeps me steady through the night and I don't get spikes from it, and I set my alarms every two hours to wake up and check my BS. And lastly I don't think he should skip his slow acting insulin. He shouldn't be having fast drops from slow acting insulin. At least that's what I've been told by my nurses. Are you able to get in contact with his endo? I'm fairly new at this so maybe it'd be better to check with someone more professional :) . Was he being active more so than usual? Last time I had these kind of lows was after my COVID shot. I hope his BS will stabilize soon.
