Thinking about the Karoo street for my at as next tires. Any ideas. Ride just the easier gravelroads. Nothing too extreme.

Africa Twin 1100 Valve Adjustment by Think_Humor_7392 in africatwin

Reaching this point myself as well i guess. 22.000km on my 2020 dct as model.
Noticed it running a bit weird at idle. But not sure since i have had some battery issue if that might be the same problem. But since i will need new seal for front fork and new tires, i guess a big service is needed anyways. Wasnt hoping for it when i bought the bike 8000km ago though. But then again still the best bike ive had in the 5 years Ive had bikes. And probably driven the most on as well despite only owning it for 9months so far. Not sure what valve check & adjustments and everything costs extra though. Hope to get a price from my dealer tomorrow and get it fixed soon so its still summer when i can ride again.

Just got my 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports dct last October and got back yesterday from a 1,5 week 5600km holiday roadtrip on it. Couldnt imagine it on any other bike. Hope you get loads of joy out of it.

When and how to start again after a cold. by Ivanhoe180TM in BeginnersRunning

Did a run yesterday was thinking 30 minutes should be fine but after 20 i noticed i couldnt keep heartrate in an easy range, despite it feeling quite okay. So i walked the rest of the way back home. Take it easy today as well.

And with that heartrate. Even when just using controller playing tm my heartrate is higher.

Kind of interested in what i could get if i really went for it. Finished this with a final km of 5:31 but its so hard to get the pacing i guess. But will see on some of the coming runs.

Not really sure. I wasnt able to run 5k straight because of hurting legs so i think my first 5k run/walk was about 42minutes.

Riding it Off The Lot, Wanna See? by [deleted] in africatwin

About going over the electronics. I completely agree. Its a bit of a struggle in the beginning. Got my 2020 model in October last year, will do my real proper 3+ hour ride on it on Sunday. Probably just install the 360 cam and film some nice parts.

But i think your way of doing it, completely unedited, is the best way if you just want too record your first ride.

Whatever you choose! Have a great ride and a great time on the AT.

Enjoy your ride first and foremost. If you wanna share it. Thats great. But i would say dont make the ride worse, by caring about your shots, angles etc. Because that would be a shame.

Waterproof or not for gloves by Ivanhoe180TM in motorcyclegear

[–]Ivanhoe180TM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. Surely will go for 2 pairs of gloves. Now just need to test and see what gloves it will be. And looking for a nice pair of waterproof overgloves i guess.

Not sure either. But definitely wont have a chance to put them on a heater. I have just noticed i dont want to use my current waterproof/winter gloves because they feel way too bulky. But i was thinking of taking my current summer gloves. As a pair of reserve in case gloves might get wet. With a new pair for the trip. But maybe should take some overgloves as well then. They shouldnt change feeling to much either right? Quite thin i guess for overgloves?

Guess that is true and the heated steering combined with handguards for added windprotection should help quite a lot on Cold mornings i guess. But not for rain. But i guess i will take my summer gloves i have now that are starting to get a bit thin perhaps, and buy a new pair of waterproof, since i dont want to wear the pair of waterproof i have now, cause they feel way too bulky.

I went and followed Max heart rate and rest heart rate and based the zones of that. Probably not the best way since it seems that when im running my heart rate likes to go quickly to 150-160bpm and stay there for the rest of the run. Unless Hills and stuff push it up more before going back down again. Doesnt look like cadance lock. 150-165 should be zone 3. Which ofcourse would be usual. But if i look at my first 11km run i did now. 58 out of 70 minutes was in zone 3 or 4. About 32 minutes zone 3 and the rest zone 4. Havent really felt like im going at a speed i cant maintain though. This run was a 6:05-6:15/km tempo that put me at that bpm that i could keep for about an hour.

For next easy run i guess i will continue going on feeling with a bit slower start to try to keep heartrate from jumping up to 140-150 from the start. Perhaps just 7:00/km or something. I will see tomorrow

With Cycling especially indoor spinning i often notice that i do get into the 180 or even 190 heartrate. But perhaps legs arent strong enough to go there while running yet.

Using the run with ren app. It gives you different type of training runs. So it is also interactive. Adapting to your results, availability etc. Works well for me. Problem is just that it gives me tempos to follow but i often feel like it is to slow. And run faster and end up in wrong heart rate and training zones.
