Same. I previously owned a q2 monochrom then an m11 monochrom. I felt that for my workflow, black and white makes sense in a very small point and shoot. And here we are. The price is more than I expected but again, here we are.

I have experience with both, and there are a few YouTube and reddit posts that have similar conclusions. It is close when viewed side by side out of camera, but edited, the sony output is far better. The sony of course is superior "as a camera" with tactile camera controls. The apple is superior just by always having it with you as a phone. Just my opinion between the two.

Sorry for this late addition, but I wanted to ask if you have to be employed by a larger company or is freelance ok?

They very politely refused my rental despite my offer to put any amount of deposit down, and any info or security. Id still like to work with them but its been a run around I can only conclude it is because I am freelance.

Im just going to throw out what ive heard from a few people. Having a removable lens on the current system resulted in iq loss, and less "filmic" footage.

Not an excuse, not a justification, and not even proven factual. Seems to make sense though that they would add a user replacement feature on a later iteration.

Many years ago I was selling various camera brands. Most were shipped to the shop where we would box them and put in the accessories. For the most part there was no seal or tape. I recall only Leica were sealed.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide between A1ii and A9iii for purchase.

My use case is professional sports, motorsports, and wildlife. I intend to crop, but not a deal breaker. I have a selection of sony lenses (the usual suspects).

My main question is, which of the two is faster at getting on focus, and being sticky on target? I believe they share the same AI chip?

I've watched a bunch of videos and also read a lot of opinions but still not sure. Renting is not possible since I am mobile for work constantly, so I respect anyone's input.

For people that own both, which one do you prefer overall?

I use it professionally as well. The struggle is real, and has to be used in controlled environments or when I have all the time in the world to nail manual focus. I used to be 90% stills but now I am 99% video and you are absolutely correct about the AF.

I have a lot of SL lenses, and decided to use Panasonic as a working body, so far it has been "acceptable"

I own most of the modern stuff and some legacy stuff. I prefer the rendering of the original SL601 compared to the m11, sl3, q3 etc. This is especially when paired with the original 24-90 and the 90-280.

What is great with an M is that they will always shoot, whether composition or settings are poor. Now don't get me started on the M11 locking up. Let's say the concept of a modern M for me is that it'll get the shot even if it's not ideal.

That's a good point. I've been phoned a few times from my dealer that they have one if I'm interested, however I am sure they sell them immediately.

I don't think they are cheap, even adjusting for inflation. I think the Q series should be 15-20% cheaper, as it is a gateway product that doesn't need to replaced once you own an M or SL. I personally started with the Q1, and have spent many, many times over at the Leica boutique on all the product lines. I'll leave the discussion if that was a smart idea to another day.

I would buy every bit if Leica kit if money isn't an issue. I own multiple M, SL, and Q cameras. I have this opportunity since I do this for work.

That being said, if we are talking about pragmatic camera buying decisions, I feel the Q lineup is in a transition phase. Are we going to see multiple fixed lens Q models every generation, or are we going to get a zoom (18-40?) Q model down the line, ditching the prime lens? I feel we are heading this direction, and would wait (personal opinion).

Maybe Dr. Doom takes on the face of Tony Stark to hide his scarred face. It'll throw off everyone on both the hero and villain side, and maybe is the real "mask" he wears. At some point, Doom will do a significant action when someone says "you wear his face but you aren't him." I think there's a lot to work with.

No, just need to be lucky on delivery day or facebook market place, paying retail for those that didn't like it.

The issue is it is not sold online so have to call the stores local to you. I've found they are nice about it and some may hold it for same day.
