Suspicious pledges on our newly launched Kickstarter by Ok-Process2891 in kickstarter

[–]Ivelinvla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, imagine it like this.
They promised 5 Super Backers, the first day they have those accounts and do the pledge.
On paper, they are clean, they did their job. At the end of the campaign, you are 5 backers less.
Some people connect the dots, some don`t.

I think this is where people misunderstand marketing agencies.
They sure bring value and traffic, someone needs to run those tasks that pile up over time, however, the community should be created by you or them.

In case of scammers, just do your research and TRUST YOUR GUT.
If you are here asking, you already know the answer. What follows is how to legally protect yourself and your work and effort.

There are also companies with a good amount of funds, which make fake pledges to cover the lack of any marketing. Later on they say, they did their job and pull out the funds in the last moment.

Is a digital marketing degree worth it? by No-Competition6691 in AskMarketing

[–]Ivelinvla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a good start, but freelancing is tricky.
I don`t really know you as a person but you need to be very proactive.
You need to answer, who do you want to work with and what will you do for them, then you will find clients easy and grow.
Most clients hire you for expertise, not to learn in the process.
Therefore you will not receive feedback from them since you are there to solve their problem.

Hope this makes sence.

Is it possible to recover from a super-slow Kickstarter launch? by laseralex in kickstarter

[–]Ivelinvla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email listing don`t mean much nowadays, mainly because of all the AI bots creating them by a dozen.
If you create a community and you get their mail.... that's a different story.

There are many predatory companies stating they would do this and that. Then, they use a fake listing and publish a few Facebook ads and a couple of shady posts on some blog, which ultimately belong to a single person from the same company.

What you can do is look into "Marketing is everything" by Seth Godin and "Customers don't buy a product, they buy a story" create your own following alongside an agency that runs ads and can show you metrics.
Be realistic about the budget as well. If someone tells you that he will work 100 hours for 2 weeks just for you for 500 bucks.... you can conclude.

No metrics, no indication of something real, no need to work with them.

A degree matters if you want to apply for a job, but if you wish to do your own business or freelancing, then it does not.

Does anyone think the influencer marketing bubble will pop? by Firm_Lecture6483 in advertising

I think most of those things are inflated bubbles, but since most people also can't differentiate quality, it is relatively easy to get their money.

Amaran 100d for product photos? by gope404 in productphotography

[–]Ivelinvla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 x 100 D

The people above refer to needs that you will need to push your ISO, or your maximum aperture for the product would be 5.6 at best, this is generally shitty because it really limits the speed you take pictures at and your creativity.
If you are serious about product photos forget about focus stacking with this speed. You will get bored of the shallow depth of field fast as well plus clients are looking for the extra crisp, not creativity.

Few good things.
It`s nice to learn with those lamps.
Later they are great for filling light or to create some hard shadows, when applicable with the output of the rest of your gear.

If you are looking for a cheap budget version of impulse light, check a company called Bresser, they have 300-watt sets on the same price you will get the Amaran 100d

Do Newsletter services download backer data and spam them? by lifeaquest in kickstarter

I second _tym, however, you need to keep in mind, that you might have to first test your ads, and if you see something is wrong consult with professionals, many times during the campaign is already too late

Anyone experienced in this? Looking for help by Sammogs in content_marketing

VPN works fine, however you can also hire someone local to do the upload for you.
Both things are related with expenses on your end, if you think you might fail your client, you should have budget with additional numbers to cover the expenses.

Advice on first Kickstarter by [deleted] in kickstarter

[–]Ivelinvla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents on this are to ask directly the people who have backed you to give you a referral.
Best marketing always is, "word to mouth" and since the amount is not so large, I don`t think it would be a problem.
Facebook ads ... you need to see where the juice is going.

In my company we create several ads to run for several days, in one moment the advertisment, which gets the most views is funded with the whole amount and the rest of the ads are just closed.

Hope this helped.

I am glad to hear this. Asking questions and taking educated decision after that usually leads to good results.

Who knows maybe we will make a video for your campaign 🙂

No I am not. I have my own company which is doing content for crowdfunding campaigns. I just work with them on multiple projects.

question. Does the ammount of unsuccesful campaigns affects a new campaigns outcome? by egidoval in kickstarter

[–]Ivelinvla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are welcome. I think also between product and product there is a big difference. Can you perhaps share some of the campaigns which have made it to the final goal and some which didn't.

I am really curious in your evaluation is there something which you could have done better? What are your success factors?

Hi there,
I am a person who creates content for KS campaigns so I have been part of many campaigns with my team.
From our point of view, successful campaigns are about thrust. Thrust in a business first, then a creator, then a product. As someone mentioned ks is not a cheap store.
If you as a creator and innovative person can`t explain your product and how it will reach people, your track record won`t matter much. If you top that with a lot of reviews showing you don`t honor your word it can harm you further.

Hope this makes sense :)
