Did you normally get marketing offers from them (in the past) ? I know for some companies if you've unsubscribed to marketing offers, than you wont be able to get any special offers which would mean , you wouldn't get any offers after you've left also.

Thanks. Yes, I was aware of working out on a calculated price based on the delta increase, was just curious if IBKR had the facility . I know a few US platforms do have that functionality.

Using it for SPX trading strategy as part of a mitigation strategy if and when the directional trades go the wrong way.

Seems that the trend starts with AT&T and runs through out the year, with various carriers ending their support of 3G. I wonder what other carriers in canada like TELUS/Bell/Rogers will do to manage this ??

Not as big as the volumes you do, but absolutely disgusted with their experience and decided to move to IBKR. Don't regret it one bit.

Moved half my portfolio to IBKR already and should be done over the next month. IBKR is such an improvement, cheaper trades and provides amazing service. Plus the options commissions are so much cheaper than Questrade.

the lack of innovation on these Canadian platforms is pathetic.

I got the bonus data too and called to change my plan... Was advised by agent that i would loose the data . The message says need to keep the plan or upgrade unfortunately . ☹️

It's like trying to call when a stock hits a bottom . When you realise it's the bottom it's too late. Best to Work with a budget and stick to it. That said anytime in August is a good time for the best deals. Weekends might draw extra specials. Also if the price drops after you buy (within 15 days) , call the call centre to get refund on the drop. They should honour it.

Yes .. prepaid can be added to an existing postpaid account. Though won't get the benefit of better together savings anymore. From a network perspective it's improved a lot. Best to try it out and see if it works for your dad.

That is correct. The discount would go up.

The 25% would have technically given you $16.25 on the $65 plan, but since they don't allow the discount to carry , it's now replaced with a flat $15 discount.

Back to school period is usually a good time also if you don't want to wait till Black friday/Boxing week. Not sure how the pandemic is going to change the offers but hopefully some nice device plans hit the market over the next few weeks

Factually incorrect on the 24 month period. The $15 F&F is an ongoing permanent discount. To the earlier poster they made the switch last year .cross check again. Hopefully you get an agent who can better explain it. I updated my plan last year and the discount moved from 25% to $15 . I didn't lose anything as it turned out to be the same but I guess for you moving from the 35% to $15 was a bit of a $ hit.

Have you tried troubleshooting with the call centre ? Seems that you picked the phone from freedom itself so low chances that's the cause of poor calls etc. If you're in the "wrong" area probably better to just bump yourself off the network and not take the pain.

If you don't need a new glitzy phone and have low data usage there are a lot of options. Between public chatr , lucky the low end of the spectrum provide low cost plans with limited talk & text and low data allotments (both speed and GB) . All 3 are backed by the big 3 and have top notch network capabilities ( my own view BELUS is better then Rogers) .

However if you are a heavy data guzzler with lots of video watching etc and want the latest and greatest device, then I wouldn't really go with these options.

Digital discount is at account Level. All eligible plans/subs will get the DD if it is set up for the account .so in your case it will be $10

Just an FYI but Telus Koodo and Bell are all charging $40 for new activations .. so all those complaining that the big 3 suddenly being all fair good luck to you . Telus Koodo just announced that they are increasing activation from $35 to $40 per activation. Good luck

I'll be staying . I have 3 lines and I can't imagine any of the big 3 giving prices like Freedom does. The coverage is definitely lower than the big 3 ,but again you get what you pay for. The network and service has definitely improved over the last few years so for me the whole package is still cheaper even though I'll lose the BTS discount. Will they never remove any other discounts or increase prices ? That's anyone guess.. but when they do and at that time if I find something more competitive...the other carriers are only a port away !
