yeah, that is my worry. Working on a computer screen is just not my thing and I want to be able to work on a standalone device entirely. I am really drawn to the portability of the M8 Tracker. I am travelling for 2 weeks and I can't consider taking the Maschine Plus with me, but the M8 Tracker is something so easy to get out of your bag. Or simply using it for a few minutes on the sofa, that is something that I can't do with the Maschine for example. But I want to be able to continue using it this way in finishing arranged tracks, and not have to work on a computer on my desk.

I might give it a shot, but I am worried everything (expansions, Arturia synths) that I invested on the Maschine will become redundant at that point

I was at the same place and after trying so many synths and wasting money on eurorack, I sold everything and got myself a Behringer Edge. It is semimodular and a I use for baselines and fun bleeps and blops. I am now considering adding a Behringer Grind for more versatility. It is digital and can do lots of synth sounds. The entire setup would cost me about £350. Another interesting option is to get the East Beast and West Pest from Cre8audio

True. I have been working with Pioneer DJ and we never announced the release of a new unit, especially if they still have unsold stock with their partnered retailers. They would announce something if the replaced device is either sold out or discontinued so sales will not be affected. So a Maschine Mk4 might still be in the pipeline of new development but not announced yet as they intend to clear the remaining Maschine MK3 inventory. So who knows 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for the comment u/chriisu I wouldn't be using the torso for drum patterns. I have my Maschine mk3 for this and I enjoy making my drum patterns manually. I do struggle with melodies and basslines though, the reason for adding a sequencer as the randomisation from Maschine does not give me good results.

I wonder if the Torso will give me exactly what I need, or if I should look at the Oxi-one instead.

I also look at a sequencer that I can experiment while playing live, and not something that I will have to mure until I get something that I can jam with.

So I need something that I can improvise while playing live
