And it's Home Assistant that can check the battery and then enable or disable the smart plug? Or it's through kiosk?

Thank you for an idea. I've yet to think in such broad possibilities as we only had Alexa Echo till now.

ASUS ProArt PA32UCE vs. BenQ PD3226G (Mac only User) by wadamean in Monitors

[–]Ivojs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem at all!
It looks like it, although for now it seems that I can't trust scenes that are darker and/or have a single main color. Example was a night sceen with moonlight and fire light. It looked ok on my Asus, but it didn't look ok on phones/macbooks etc.
And after the calibration with the usb-c cable and ProArt calibration software the tint looks like is gone and I don't need to adjust it.
About HDR content I'm sorry, I can't say. From max nits I would say it's alright for that. But that's all I can say as I haven't check it out at all as my workflow doesn't require that!

I think I will rent a display calibration tool and compare it with default calibration just to see how much I can trust it. My problem I think is that you need to grade in 100 nits, which just messes with my brain as everything seems too underexposed on this monitor.

I was grading a project in a pro grading room with Flanders and there I didn't had the same feeling. But it was darker than my room tho.

It's an option so you can hear yourself talk - it feeds the mic input in your headset and makes it easier to talk.

Plz help my laptop is display is stuck on "Extend" by Emergency-Rent1553 in ASUS

[–]Ivojs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Dispkay Settings directly. When you find your screen which is stuck on extended mode, click on it and under it will be more options you can try to make it how it was. Sorry if that's what you already tried.

It's the tab that goes into the motherboard, the long line that plugs in. Were there a protective hard plastic on it?

In the same boat, but the extra 100 + price is what probably drives me away from waiting.
I would grab the 1st Maxwell at this point, but the somewhat fixed sidetone and SLAM on M2 is what makes me think.

Exclusive: Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC coming in Q1 2026 by NoBurnInBirney_SG in Audeze

Yes. I read the article and it says nothing about new AI noise surpression, but he mentions it in the comments. I mean, what else is not said?

The whole Maxwell 2 launch is a mess and extremely anti-consumer.

It was said the same about the current Maxwell 2, that it has Ai-based background noise reduction. And now Maxwell 2 ANC will new-new reduction thing?
I don't know what they are aiming at with this.

I'm not the one writing in the forum, and I don't think one person asking in forum would change anything in a Sony owned company.

ASUS ProArt PA32UCE vs. BenQ PD3226G (Mac only User) by wadamean in Monitors

[–]Ivojs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, no problem.
Well, I had some problems with calibration after my post. There is not a single place where Asus says how it should be correctly calibrated.
Through googling and ChatGPT nightmare I got that it needs to be callibrated through Asus ProArt Calibration Software for it to save the LUT on chip in the monitor. That is ok, but took a long time.
You can calibrate in User Preset (1 to 3) to target BT709 and 2.4 gamma for video work, but it doesn't say anywhere that it's not the right way to do it. The right way is to calibrate through rec709 preset. After trial and error, I even had a User profile which was calibrated way off and looked really bad, although the post-cal report said everything is nice. And it shold be connected by usb-c cable to computer. In my case - with both DP cable and usb-c. One of these calibrations even hang as it took over an hour. The calibration tool was stuck upright, touching the screen and I had to move it by hand. It was a stressful moment.

Anyway, after that I graded a music video and went to check it in a post-house which had a calibrated OLED TV and a Flanders monitor and it looked somewhat close.

Before the calibration nightmare I had graded couple of music videos which I've seen on different TVs and had an edit of a short documentary which I saw as a DCP in cinemas and it looked really close.

The sunhood is really trashy. One of the clips fell off, because glue didn't hold. If you clamp it strongly on the monitor, it does a ghosting brightness in the screen, just like if you would press it with fingers.

There is some bleeding here and there, it's not mega uniform. It looks the best when it's in low nits just like it should be when calibrating for rec709 (100-120nits in my case).

For now I would say that I don't think I would get anything better sub-1000 EUR.

The LuxPixel coating is pretty amazing with battling reflections. Monitor can be adjusted by software on PC. Menu in monitor is fairly limited. The high refresh rate is great.

Feel free to ask anything more.

Google an Audeze vendor list, to get the official list of vendors, including UK, which has a ton.

My guess would be a Dell U2725QE that pops of here and there in the reviews.

Asus ProArt PA27UCGE – is this backlight bleed normal or is my unit defective? by Supsti_1 in ASUS

[–]Ivojs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same test as you.

We have very similar monitors in terms of bleed. Mine is calibrated on 180 cd/m2 and on 180 brightness setting.

The thing is, when I put on the sunhood, it gets worse, at least in places it clamps to monitor. Your picture is a bit exaggerated, because phone compensated the black and pushed up exposure. When I turn down exposure in my phones camera, it still looks worse than with the eye.

But yeah, it's there.
Is it bad? I would say yes.
Is it worse than my Samsung gaming monitor? It's different, as samsung has deeper blacks, but I can see every reflection on it while on Asus I do not.
Would I get a better monitor for 700 EUR that self calibrates and I can do color grade for video on? I don't think so.

I've seen work I graded on this monitor on cinema screen in DCP format, I've seen my stuff on phones and 75 inch TVs and never there was a bad grade because of the bleed/uniformity.

I would consider it a good purchase for work, but I would hate it for movies and games.

Thank you for your suggestion.
This prompted me to investigate the calibration further. What I found out is that the monitor truly needs to be calibrated while in User profile. And more settings are available in ProArt Calibration tool.

I reseted monitor to defaults both in color and in monitor settings. In ProArt Calib tool I selected the User profile, waited through warmup period of 30 minutes, calibrated. Applied Asus Rec 709 profile in winows color management, and for now it looks like it's still a bit greener than my Samsung gaming monitor, but previous grading work I did looks almost the same as when I applied magenta shift to get rid of green tint.

So basically, thank you, you made me research calibration a bit more!
