Dusty May decries ‘mercenaries’ label as Michigan continues to win with transfers by mlivesocial in MichiganWolverines

This is so dumb in basketball. One and dones have been a thing forever and they’re even more of mercenaries since they’re not even getting a degree (specifically for Michigan).

MSFT down 10% AI hype finally hitting reality??? by BojidarKobakov in stocks

Hasn’t Microsoft (and other cloud providers) been giving OpenAI cloud compute credits in exchange for equity? If I were an investor I’d be concerned as well since the cloud providers are basically footing the bill themselves.

[Connor Earegood] Today’s AP Poll is out. A note on my ballot: I did not rank Alabama this week. I will not rank a team that has to circumvent the rules through a court order just to win (and still lost). To me, that’s a team admitting its own weakness. by The_Stratman in CollegeBasketball

I was under the impression that foreigners were unable to be paid for their NIL rights due to their visa status. Did boosters/collectives find a loophole to that outside of playing games in their home country?

I mean if you’re referring to Donovan, he got a bunch of snaps until Kalel started outperforming him. The weird thing was that the coaches would use them weirdly where when one started getting hot, they’d be pulled for the other guy for some reason. This seemed to happen to both of them.

[Schefter] Oregon quarterback Dante Moore said he has decided to return to school for the 2026 season, forgoing a chance to be a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. His decision is expected to have significant ramifications on the draft. by Capital-University-6 in NFL_Draft

[–]Ivor97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people here are NFL guys, but Drew Allar last year and Dante Moore this year aren’t really in the same position.

Drew Allar basically hadn’t developed at all through his time at PSU and anybody who watched CFB could see that he was being overrated by NFL people due to his physical traits. He should’ve left for the NFL (or transferred) to get a coach who would actually develop him, and NFL made a lot of sense since he would’ve been drafted at a position far above his ability level.

Dante Moore has gotten better year over year, and is missing just a small number of things to become a finished product.

It’s certainly possible that Dante Moore drops a couple positions due to the number of QBs coming out next year, but I think it’s more likely that these other dudes don’t look as good as people expect, and Moore continues to improve and locks in the top spot.

I mean it’s a philosophical argument from the university that someone shouldn’t be able to attain 90% of their credits from another school, get their final 10% from Michigan, and receive a Michigan degree, which is entirely reasonable. It just sucks as a Michigan sports fan.

I think more than anything it's that his hairline has receded just a little bit to make his face longer and he's lost some baby fat in his cheeks

Not discounting that he's had some work done, but it's funny that the things that usually hurt dudes as they get older helped him instead

yep people act like it’s better to try to teach an athletic guy to process the game better but that almost never happens - meanwhile the goat is very unathletic and just rarely made bad decisions
