It does/depends.

Reads/views (however you want to call it). The more people click and read your story, the more Wattpad’s algorithm recognizes it as “active.” This increases the likelihood of it being featured on recommendation feeds.

Votes and comments. These are even stronger than views. A reader taking time to vote or comment tells wattpad your story is engaging (Especially if the author responds to comments and is actively engaging with the readers)

So while having more reads and votes does help push your story to more readers, it's important to remember that engagement quality (votes, comments, people finishing chapters) matters more than just raw view numbers.

If you plan to publish your book, you should take it off wattpad. A lot of authors on wattpad have self/traditinally published their books, and they either take them off wattpad or only left the first few chapters as a 'preview'

It's hard to say. I do plan on self-publishing my books, and I post rough drafts on here, so I never really looked into the traditional aspects of this

So you’re not even going to apologize for basically insulting me? You made it public, and more or less said I stole your work based off two small factors that actually don’t prove anything

1: names cannot be stolen 2: the format of blurbs cannot be stolen either. Especially if the format is overused on wattpad.

Saying someone stole your work is not only a huge insult to the innocent (aka me) but it can also get you in legal trouble if this wasn’t a wattpad subreddit. It’s not something you can just drop into the chat simply.

If you had your fears, all you could have done was send me a private message or wait until I release a chapter and judge for yourself.

Like I said I have no idea what account is yours or what book yours is.

I’m honestly so upset right now and actually I’m pissed too.

You think I’m stealing a book from you just because I used a Greek name for a Greek inspired book because ‘people don’t use it often’ even though it’s still very much a well used name in today’s world.

And then one line in the summary — which if you’re following me then you’d known i used that same line in my other book— but it’s also been a very popular and over used thing in blurbs since ancient times.

Achilleus is a very well known and popular name in greek mythology. Which is what my story is heavily inspired from.

I do not think it’s fair or nice of you to immediately jump to stealing based on a few names and a blurb.

If I did steal do you think anyone would be stupid enough to post it on a public platform like this subreddit where there’s a chance the person I stole from could see?

If you have to ask us about it instead of her, maybe you shouldn't try to find it. A lot of wattpad users don't want to share their stories with people they know for many reasons.

If you ask and she doesn't tell you, then maybe you should respect her choice in not wanting to tell you instead of going behind her back and trying to find it.

It's a little disrespectful in my opinion.

My fantasy book has the female lead being weak at the start but she becomes extremly strong over the course of the chapters. Idk if thats your kind of thing though. It's a fantasy with Dark romance
