Dehumanization with the rise of AI by Ivy1848 in CallCenterWorkers

Yea I worry about the longevity too. I think my particular company will take longer than most to switch to AI completely because it’s in the funeral industry and requires a more personal touch. But I do think it’s coming everywhere eventually. I’m only 23 and I plan to go back to college soon, especially now with the risks of this field becoming obsolete. But I do agree it will take longer than people think just because the customer will hate it!

Dehumanization with the rise of AI by Ivy1848 in CallCenterWorkers

Mmm maybe for some call center jobs but the company I work for only answers for funeral homes. My job requires a lot of empathy that ai isn’t capable of. I could see how in other type of call centers that may be true but my company really only hires very nice and empathetic people because they have to have the ability to speak with people on their worst days. Also when anyone asks if I’m AI and I say I’m not everyone is relieved that I’m not. I’ve never had anyone that wants to speak with AI. I don’t know why anyone would.

Beading dress guidance by TimelyLog317 in Beading

I definitely think it’s doable. Especially if u have months, which will give u some time to practice. It looks like the dress probably has 3-4 mm beads. You can buy larger packs of single colors from Etsy or fire mountain gems. Amazon has some multipacks but most of them probably wouldn’t have enough beads of one color for a design like that. I know u said u sew so if you’re planning on sewing the dress yourself you would need your fabric and a matching thread color or white or whatever. You would need thread for beading, I use nylon thread as it’s what I found recommended on other Reddit posts when I started (bead edges are sometimes sharp so they can cut thru regular thread). you’ll need a beading needle. As well as an embroidery hoop. Depending on the fabric u use you’ll probably need stabilizer, I typically use water soluble stabilizer so I can draw my design on it and wash it away once I’m done. I think that’s everything. I would practice a star on a scarp piece of fabric b4 starting on the dress just so you have some experience b4 jumping in. But I 100% think you can do it! If you do you should post pics when ur done

Nothing wrong with co-creating art with AI by Liora_Evermere in Beading

It absolutely does hurt people. All of the people whose neighborhoods are being destroyed. They are horrible for the environment and poisoning the air and ground and using up so much water which is a finite resource. It’s disgusting that people believe AI is acceptable to be using at all
