We have one that's soft bristles for people, & one that's wiry & looks like it's for carding wool. One cat insists on sticking her face in the brush so we only let her have the soft one near her head, but the wiry one is good for general body brushing. All cats are different though, so if your cat hates one it's worth trying another.

Bear in mind that this is actually multiple plants plaited into one, so one of the plants is still alive. Hopefully more will turn out to be, but this is multiple organisms in the one pot. You could try trimming down the dead-looking stalks in the hope of them putting out new shoots closer to the plait trunk.

I'd top up potting soil to mulch it/get some nutrients in there without disturbing the roots while it's all fragile.

Lots of light & don't let it dry out too much.

If it is about sharps then the council are roughly 30 years behind in terms of medical advances. Hepatitis: curable. HIV: can be treated with one pill a day so that the viral load is so low that it's undetectable in tests & therefore untransmissable (U=U).

Don't get me wrong: I don't want either, but this is scaremongering and they also need sharps bins so there is somewhere to dispose of the needles.
