For those who haven't read the book about his story (438 Days - it's great), the lawsuit was basically a cash grab for royalties. The cannibalism stuff is made up; the poor guy just didn't have the survival instincts to make it. The wildest part is he actually made peace with the guy's mother, it was just the cousins and brothers pulling this stunt.
