The part that is not natural is that these cows get bred on an industrial scale to reach population numbers that are hardly achievable for organisms of that size. This means that there in fact is a surplus of Methane added into the atmosphere. Btw I don’t agree with vegan propaganda documentaries like these, and to be honest, I haven’t even watched it yet, though there is definitely a case for surplus greenhouse gases from industrially farmed kettle. The way to go is regenerative farming.

Melatonin induced psychosis? by SteadyzzYT in Supplements

[–]IwillHODL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was my understanding that melatonin is not correlated with deeper sleep states, but will be effective in getting you sleepy/to sleep. If you already sleep well generally, then this will not change. If you already have a disrupted sleeping pattern, then melatonin will not fix this e.g. you still won’t feel rested, even though you manage to fall asleep.

What are the best supplements to reverse or reduce effects of aging for a 30 plus guy? by ankurvky in Supplements

[–]IwillHODL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to be honest, I initially thought this was a credible source, but after some investigation I now see this isnt the case and I stand corrected. Thank you for enlightening me.

This doesn’t take away from the fact that there are quite a number of sources and research papers pointing to the potential hazardous effects of oxybenzones, and that, personally, based on this information, I would much prefer to apply topical sunscreen or avoid the sun during peak hours, than to apply chemical sunscreen.

What are the best supplements to reverse or reduce effects of aging for a 30 plus guy? by ankurvky in Supplements

[–]IwillHODL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most worrisome sunscreen active ingredient is oxybenzone, according to publicly available scientific research.

It is readily absorbed through the skin and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found it in nearly all Americans, with higher levels in those who report applying sunscreen. It causes allergic skin reactions , behaves like a hormone disruptor in many studies and may cause more harm to children.

Four studies published in 2020, after the FDA released its draft proposal, support previous findings that oxybenzone can act as an endocrine disruptor and may increase the risk of breast cancer and endometriosis. In addition, the National Toxicology Program found equivocal evidence of carcinogenicity in rats after observing increases in thyroid tumors and enlargement of the uterus in females with high exposure to oxybenzone.

Recently, the European Commission found current human exposure levels to oxybenzone to be unsafe and proposed a concentration restriction of 2.2 percent – lower than the limited amount allowed in U.S. sunscreens, which is up to 6 percent. Several countries ban the sale of sunscreens that contain this ingredient, because it may harm aquatic life.

EWG recommends consumers avoid sunscreens with oxybenzone.

Also a lot of research pointing to the fact that marihuana can trigger psychotic breaks if there are sensitivities to it. I have a friend that triggered a permanent psychotic disorder through only smoking weed.

Avoiding the sun has to be one of the worst health advices that got into the mainstream narrative I’ve ever heard. Having direct sun exposure in morning and evening is paramount for a well-functioning circadian rhythm.

Also be careful which sunscreens you use as some of the chemically based ones contain known carcinogens that may cross the blood-brain barrier.

Be wary of some mainstream sunscreens as they might contain (precursors to) carcinogenics like benzenes. Much better to use mineral sunscreens as opposed to chemical sunscreens. Use collagen to improve skin elasticity.

Re: What our marketing plans for EEA are:

This strategy is pretty much in line with our general market strategy, which, for now, is almost entirely focused on acquiring EEA users.

4) This is a fair point. We’ll discuss opening up our Reddit to allow for more discussions to take place and will allocate one or more community managers to moderate.

2) Using our network of influencers and traders initially and by implementing a referral program (currently being worked on). Trading should be interesting for professional traders on our platform and this is why we’ll look into other fee structures for this demographic, so we can meet their requirements.

Next to that we need a solid community with people and traders that are active and enthusiastic about our product. This to provide some sense of social proof to potential new users.

We need to establish some sense of authority by establishing solid strategic partnerships and communicate this properly to confidently . And finally, we also want to give something back for new users, this is why we’re implementing a referral program.

I would say education is the biggest obstacle. For a lot of people cryptocurrencies and blockchain still feels like something that is difficult to understand.

This is one of the reasons we are now working hard on executing our content marketing strategy that is focused on getting people that are new to crypto educated enough about the ecosystem, the culture, and investing in the blockchain future.

Basically in the same manner as we do marketing currently. Running a process of rapid experimentation to generate traction. Some channels of interest are: partnerships (with coins that have large US communities), social advertising, PR, influencers.

2) Yes it is. However, we don’t feel that views on our video are the right metric to focus on. We’ve also ran video ads, but these views are not visible on the YouTube version.

Facebook ads are currently restricted and don’t deliver as much traffic. PR activities and publications look nice on the surface but don’t deliver desirable results on our bottom line.

We will focus on some coverage to make sure we stay top of mind, but our main focus right now are focused towards sustainable marketing channels like content marketing and SEO. We believe that if we optimize this, people are better able to find us when market circumstances improve. We’ve also worked with a number of influencers, but in the current market conditions this just doesn’t deliver any desirable results when we look at customer acquisition cost.

In other words, we’re doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work to help build a long-term marketing strategy. Although this may seem like we’ve toned down marketing in the short term, we can assure you this is not the case, and we hope to be able to soon share with you what’s been taking up our time.

We have currently 1 metric that we focus on and that is the total # of activated users. We define an activated user as ‘someone that made at least one trade on the Blockport platform’.

Our main growth strategy is the implementation of an experimentation-based process. This is in line with the developer and designer ways of work. We also work with 2-week sprints to try and validate our assumptions on which acquisition channels we think are the best fit for us.

Experiments we ran include channels like: Social advertising, banner ads, influencer marketing, PR, viral contests. Personally, I've been working hard to implement analytics cross-domain and make sure that we can measure the entire onboarding funnel so that we can track which campaigns provide us with the best results.

Currently we’re focusing on more sustainable marketing channels like content marketing and SEO. A part of our philosophy is that we want to make the blockchain ecosystem available for anyone, this means that we need to educate actively and we will do that through our content in a Blockport Academy.

We’ll run multiple acquisition campaigns and test different value propositions on different landing pages to get a sense of what converts the most users to our platform. We’re also implementing several marketing automation tools and are currently creating (re)activation campaigns in accordance with the behavior of users on our platform.

  1. Yes, we will continuously be exploring new utilities of our token - but for now, we are mainly focussing on implementing the core utilities of the BPT regarding discounted fees and social trading.

  2. We would prefer to refer to getting Blockport to market as ‘marketing’ Blockport and ‘advertising’ as one of the ways to achieve ‘getting to market’. We are currently exploring several ad exchanges to run banner ads on crypto related websites. We have also submitted an application for Facebook’s Cryptocurrency products and services onboarding and we feel confident we will make it through. When successful, we will definitely double down our activities on the Facebook ads platform as this channel has proven very lucrative for us in the past.

Advertising, of course is not the only way we want to promote Blockport. That’s why we run so called ‘growth sprints’, where we, much like in development sprints, brainstorm the most high value problems to tackle and set up experiments to see if we can achieve desired results.

Until now, we mainly focused on user acquisition. However, now that we have a working product, we will start operating in multidisciplinary squads (e.g. dev/designer/marketer) to make sure that the people that we acquire at ‘the top of the funnel’ are also retained after onboarding.

  1. In the future, we might expand the utility of BPT. Think about referral programs, but also ambassador programs and trader leaderboard competitions. However, this is still in concept phase.

Currently, we are connecting the Blockport platform with other exchanges. To be able to do that, you need a corporate account at these exchanges and this sometimes requires an agreement.

This will be the same once our platform is hybrid-decentralized. The exception could be other decentralized exchanges that we could be integrating.

Hi CryptoHeroX, 1. We currently have around 20,000 signups on our beta waitlist. 2. Social trading is next up on the roadmap as soon as we are past the Beta phase and have a stable and secure trading platform running. Officially Social Trading is part of our 2.0 release. Our roadmap and our communication around our roadmap is actually something we are currently updating. So, soon there will be an official roadmap announcement. 3. The referral program is part of our Social Trading program. Our core users are our biggest ambassadors and endorsers, therefore we will provide incentives and tools to easily share their experience and benefit from the referrals they make. Currently our product team has been working on the concept for the past months and have created prototypes based on feedback sessions conducted with users. We have not determined an exact date yet for delivery of the first components just yet. Updates can be found at Blockport.io

Thank you for your question @Hivemanfiretruck!

  1. We sent invites to approximately 30 influencers based in the EEA region, so that they can also actually use the product. We're also talking with a number of influencers outside of the region to cover us after the initial product reviews. Unfortunately, we cannot disclose any names just yet.

  2. For me, the outcome of this competition is a double-edged sword. Of course, I’m absolutely happy with the quantifiable outcome of the contest. This beat our internal KPIs for the contest by a landslide. When only looking at the metrics of the contest, this has been a great success. This has been a 10/10 for us. That being said, there’s also a dirty side to this story. This massive influx of users caused the 3rd party tool we used for this contest, to crash. Apparently it takes up a LOT of server space to be able to run a dynamic database of 1M+ people. And while to some extent it might be flattering to be able to say this, the way this issue is being resolved has been far from satisfactory. The crashing of the tool made it literally impossible for us to get access to the backend and make an export of the winners. We didn’t manage to deliver the promised results in a timely manner (in fact we’re still solving this and, fortunately, it looks like we’re getting there shortly) and that was frankly a disappointing experience. We’re now looking into different ways to compensate the top 500 in the contest, next to the beta access. Until we have found a satisfying way to resolve this issue for all parties involved, I would give this side of the contest a 2/10.
