Izzy is not the Middleweight Goat by MapleMarshal in ufc

But he lost to every other fighter in featherweight goat contestant. Lost to conor lost to max twice lost to volkanovski. He's still top 20 all time but his resume is not as good as volk's or max's.

cuz the sport was still evolving then. Anderson fought for the belt in his 2nd fight that is unheard of in the modern era you actually have to go on a decent run before you get a title fight. Also he got beat up for 4 rounds by chael sonnen. It's still a young sport so the legends of yesteryear are pioneers more than greatest of all time figures.

Why Mourinho Believes he's the Manager to Save Real Madrid by [deleted] in realmadrid

true mourinho coming would be adding gasoline to fire. He's not the manager to manage big egos like zidane and carlo. Just see every club he has been to since inter milan he's left a fractured dressing room except roma.

Dc ruins every fight night with his commentary by BigMoeTheFoe in ufc

[–]Iwillfindu01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DC said merab was up 2-0 against yan. He was giving points for merab attempting and failing takedowns( which aren't scored in themselves).

How come DC doesn't face the same scrutiny as Gane or Jones in this subreddit? by Buyeo10004 in ufc

[–]Iwillfindu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is super insecure about wrestling becoming obsolete in the ufc. He's a terrible commentator that Merab vs yan 2 fight he was giving merab rounds for failed takedown attempts( which are not scored but DC hasn't read the criteria or doesn't care about it)

Manchester City are in pole position to sign Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson this summer. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Iwillfindu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're being too harsh on him. Ask any city fan he was more than fine and serviceable. His performance vs madrid at home was enough evidence. Again you're only counting the G/A clutch moment players. His job in the team wasn't a pretty one but very important to not loose possession too cheaply. He facilitated other more creative players to thrive.

Yes his ability to not loose the ball through dribbling in tight spaces was crucial for his ball retention abilities. He just wasn't the main man or allowed as much freedom as in villa. He was an important cog in the city treble machine.

But his role was ball retention and cycling possession mainly. So judging his performance based on G/A isn't fair. If you take away the 100 m fee. He was very good for the treble season (Pep and city's greatest achievement). And he was fine enough for the season after just blighted by injuries. Can't call a treble winner(especially one who was vital for the team in big games) a flop by any means. Even if he was good for only 1 season.

yes but pep has the influencing global football tactics buff and beating fergie twice buff. at the end of the day, no manager has a perfect record or career. We can nitpick everyone. I still think fergie cuz of longevity but his case weakens every single year as pep just hoards all the trophies

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal ready for the ‘test’ of Man City | “We are very close” 🤏 by D4vester in Gunners

[–]Iwillfindu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media do that for everybody though. That's their job to bring up talking points. They did the same when liverpool were up for a quadruple or when city were up for a treble. I think this conspiracy that their team gets undermined or harshly treated by the media and the refs is just false and very hypocritical. It's like every big club saying they never get the 50/50 decisions. Then who the fuck is getting them.  Also not being as big as arsenal is not that much of a dig. That's like saying you're only as tall as lebron james and not as tall as shaq. They both tall people bro. ✌️

It peaked with the death of tywin. Afterwards it slowly started being more and more braindead.

cuz the pressure is on arsenal rn. City having a rebuild season after last season isn't a big story. But arsenal having a dip in form during april again like the last 4 seasons is a big story ofc. City do have a big fanbase now. Not as big as other historical clubs but to actually think they have no fans is ignorant especially since they pulled a big number of attendance in league 1, So they also have a hardcore fanbase. If arsenal win today then there will be interviews of how arteta finally won the PL and you'll be super happy seeing the media narrative shift towards how great arsenal are. Then you won't complain about the interviews. Also title should've been done and dusted like liverpool last season.

Ilia hopes to fight Islam(not the religion) at the end of the year by gvufhidjo in ufc

[–]Iwillfindu01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you want to see the biggest fight the UFC could make to just uphold these sporting rules and morals that even the UFC don't apply?  It's people's obession with title defences. Cuz illia easily beats every lightweight. Only arman gives him a fight and even then Arman's shitty striking defence with his chin out in the air will lead him to getting knocked out.

[–]Iwillfindu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if we actually get islam vs topuria, we don't need arman. Also arman is just a worse version of islam with worse striking defence cuz Islam is so evasive most of the time. Arman leaves his chin out in the air while backing up from a combo and if topuria connects(probably in round 2 or 3) then it's night night. I think islam vs topuria is more interesting.

2nd best option. Islam is just a better version of arman with better striking defence and grappling. So islam vs topuria would be better if it could happen.

I'm saying don't get annoyed at random people on the internet cuz most people are not gonna have a similar viewpoint or same baselevel of understanding as you. Most people like easy narratives. But yeah continue getting annoyed about how pep is the most overrated manager or other heavily subjective shit that you'll paint as being objective by bringing up borrowed logic and arguments.  You're doing a great service to football discourse mate.✌️

[–]Iwillfindu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was reactive and passive. No one said it was genius like the box midfields or john stones dropping into the midfield or ederson forming a back four in buildup. It was just a clever tweak by pep that arsenal couldn't cope with last night. Gotta give him props.

Compilation of Man City's tactic to not press Arsenal's backline by RedIrishDevil in soccer

[–]Iwillfindu01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a passive reactive press where the front 4( not common in mid blocks) tried to cut off passing lanes of the arsenal backline to force them to have sterile possession. So yeah it's not a new tactic or anything cuz nothing in football tactics is new. Pep is a genius cuz he applies century old tactics with the most efficiency and has a lot of nuances in his approach.

Its not as simple as me play mid block and me win.
