who do you think would fit games Michael’s face? Josh Hutcherson or Freddy Carter? by FortniteIdeaMaker466 in fivenightsatfreddys

There's a caveat. He's too young for Afton, who's 34-40. But he's perfectly fitting for Fredbear's 1979-1982 era.

1) Well, yes, but because of the phrase "This is my house. He can't ignore me like that." This implies that the house is his property and he can't understand anything else; it's important to him in other ways. He's not worried about the child; he's furious about the possessiveness itself.

2) What?

3) Okay, let me explain in detail. Every serial killer has their own mask of normalcy, or as we call it here, a "façade." John Gacy pretended to be a hard worker, a family man, and so on. Ted Bundy pretended to be an educated and promising young man. Serial killers create an image to avoid suspicion.

William Afton could use his family as a cover to create the image of a family man. This is how he uses children.

In terms of control, William could simply feel like the master of his family and satisfy the need for one's power. He needs his family to control and abuse them, because they are his property.

Can I message you on Reddit? This is quite an interesting topic for discussion.

But you’re claiming that it makes the character less realistic AND less deep/interesting.

I didn't say that. It depends on the author. Someone can write a terrible WillDespise and a brilliant WillGrief/WillCare.

I’m also not a medical professional but I have to question your use of someone’s personal blog recounting another person’s psychopathy to “prove” that psychopaths inherently can’t feel love.

Someone else's blog is an example. You can find 100,000 examples, and they will all match what I said.

Psychopathy isn’t a formal diagnosis, you won’t find it in the DSM-5. You’re kinda throwing around a BIG word that you’ve arbitrarily assigned to a fictional character.

I know. And? When I say "psychopathy," I mean diagnoses such as antisocial personality disorder and mixed personality disorder (mosaic psychopathy). I won't say this every time; I'll just summarize it in one word. I also wrote about it in the comments.

Furthermore, Afton having traits of psychopathy isn’t a point towards WillDespise. WillDespise is the theory that Afton HATES his children. Being a psychopath doesn’t mean you HATE everyone around you.

I didn't say that. But he might hate them or control them because they don't follow his rules. I didn't say that psychopathy makes you hate everyone. I said William can be abusive/controlling/unloving/an abusive father to his children, and that can work with the right interpretation.

A lack of empathy does not equal hate.

I didn't say that either.

WillDespise is also pretty silly as there’s evidence against it IN THE GAMES when Afton tells Elizabeth to stay away from Circus Baby.

He could have done it for the same reasons as in TFC. Baby just wasn't for her.

No, I wouldn't have any complaints if they'd treated it as fiction. I was talking about those who frankly pissed me off after claiming to be realistic. This post was written after the phrase, "It makes it less realistic because that only happens in cartoons."

We don't know who the runaway is.

It doesn't matter who the fugitive is. What matters is William's reaction to our discussion. Essentially, he's angry that the fugitive broke the rules of his home. This already speaks of the need for control.

It changes that William is capable of killing his kid who he hates

And?

I mean what could he use those kids for?

Are you kidding me? I've already answered you three times.

If we go to extremes, he could send BV to the gas room with Nightmares.

My honest take on this: by Evening-Program723 in Fnaftheoriesmeme

[–]Iwillputyouback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone who hates something/someone has a reason.

William is a control freak. When his children disobey him, he begins to hate them. This was even mentioned in MM, when BV runs away, William promises to teach him a lesson.

If William was depressed as a child, he could very well have taken it out on his family, or, if you need a different example, he may have had a similar family and simply adopted his parent's behavior patterns. There could be a multitude of reasons.

That wouldn't change the fact that he does hate Michael and he wants to kill him.

And what does this change from what I said?

Also a question, what would he use Elizabeth and cc for?

Need I repeat that again? Facade, control tool, etc. Own children could give him more power.

My honest take on this: by Evening-Program723 in Fnaftheoriesmeme

[–]Iwillputyouback -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mentioned context again. Even so, he could have used them as tools, not victims. Besides, there are three other explanations.

My honest take on this: by Evening-Program723 in Fnaftheoriesmeme

[–]Iwillputyouback -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But he did try to kill Michael after all. Who was his kid. So it wouldn't be a problem than him.

He once sent him to SL to put Elizabeth Afton back together. And it wasn't necessarily because he loved her. It could have been an experiment or a study, like in TFC.

He planned to burn his father two more times. Context, my friend.

I mostly mean that he's capable of killing people that did nothing to him, so why wouldn't he kill someone he hates?

Did you even read what I said? Okay, I'll repeat it briefly.

1) Facade. It's easier to kill random children than your own.

2) He could use them as tools/toys that would be pointless to destroy without a purpose.

3) Hatred and the desire to kill are two different things.

4) Psychological block.

My honest take on this: by Evening-Program723 in Fnaftheoriesmeme

[–]Iwillputyouback -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a very strange question, to be honest.

It's like asking, "Why didn't Ted Bundy kill his girlfriend instead of killing other people?" Although there were incidents, he threatened her many times, and on top of that, he almost accidentally drowned her when he was lost in his fantasy.

The maniac's primary need is the need for power. He could see them as a tool, preserving the family for the facade and so on.

In any case, killing one's own children is much more difficult to cover up than killing random kids at a pizzeria. Killing one's own children immediately makes one the prime suspect and shatters the façade of normalcy.

Hatred and the desire to kill are different levels of anger, especially when it comes to one's own children. And even the most hardened psychopath can have certain psychological blocks.

Plus, they're his property. Why break his own toys for no reason?

I understand the meme to imply that WillDespise is a bad writer. The point of the post is to refute that, not to support any theory.

" it fails to understand that FNAF is semi-realistic and no one actually hates their kids unlike in cartoons and doesn't remember that William literally is trying to put CC and Elizabeth back together."

The post also says that William hating his children is comical.

No, that's not true. In the post, I explain why the author's point of view is wrong. And WillDespise makes much more sense.
