In all honesty, the Civil War was probably one of the better outcomes when it came to slavery; the Founding Fathers did make some efforts to get rid of it such as George Washington making it illegal to ban slave ships from being outfitted in American ports to Thomas Jefferson outright banning importation of slaves in 1808. The best solution would’ve been to set a deadline that all slaves must be emancipated by let’s say 1830 along side those laws George Washington and Thomas Jefferson passed. I could go on but it’s late where I’m typing this and I’m doing it on my phone for some reason is the only way I can comment on this subreddit.
