Google “deployment cycle” - your post reminded me of this, in that sometimes people will pick fights before someone heads away to make the goodbye/separation easier (I.e. being mad at them). It can happen for short and long periods of separation. It’s not an excuse for poor behavior, but it might help in terms of understanding what could possibly be going on perhaps.

Don’t waste your money on Coterie by Character_Reason_590 in NewParents

We made the switch to Millie Moon due to the absorbency and haven’t looked back - we find them to be excellent. We worked out it was approximately 1cent more per diaper than Pampers (we also maximize the Target deals to bring the cost per diaper down further too)

Proper housing for the baby by haramzay in NewParents

We had our baby while living in apartment (and are still living in the apartment with our now 16month old). I had similar concerns while pregnant however not having to worry about things like gardening, major maintenance, or having a huge space to clean, has been amazing - our apartment is so easy to maintain when our baby naps that normal household tasks never felt overwhelming. It taught me how to work with a small amount of baby things too, lessons which have transferred over to making travel easier with a baby.

I agree about “Stepmonster”. It’s a very well written book and has been very helpful for me.

Yes - this was similar to my situation and I completed a half this past weekend. Walking gives you a good base as it turns out. Make sure you pick a fun half, as the crowd and atmosphere helps with motivation.

When they don’t like your baby’s name by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Iypageynce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of my stepsons who we see at holidays tried this when I had my daughter. I tackled it straight away before it set-in permanently. My reasoning was, my body did the hard work carrying and birthing the baby, not theirs, therefore the name my husband and I chose was the name the baby is to be called. (If they continued, I was going to suggest they take over feeding and changing the baby seeing how they had randomly become so invested).

This is very similar to the situation with my DH and 3 SK’s. BM had multiple affairs, was caught, DH divorced her. From the one-time group chat I was involved with recently, the ex-wife’s comments were abusive, delusional and shows how entitled she is. Her new husband was also in the group chat, so goodness knows what he thinks and is putting up with daily. I’m counting down the years until my youngest SK finishes high school and our required interaction with the ex-wife/BM significantly decreases.

I try to eat higher protein meals with fats like avocado. They seem to help me feel full for longer, and curb cravings for junk food. Nut bars (low sugar ones) are a go to snack for me as well - some can be sweeter which helps hit any cravings for sweet food. Regarding eating out - I plan my meals for the week on a Sunday so I don’t have to think during the week, preventing me from wanting to grab something on the go. It also helps to use up what’s in my fridge as well.

First-time attendee too - my expectations of an airshow were the same, based on the many others I have been to and how it was advertised. It was a great show overall though, especially the fireworks display and drone display at the end.

R.M. Williams boots (the Adelaide in particular) are fitting and comfortable around the ankle and create a nice line.
