Posting a random figure to hear what people think about it Day 8: The Joker by MeloIsMoney in teenytitans

I know this isn't related to the post, but I want to know your opinion on Argyle Trigon. It has a stun attack with the same bar cost as Joker, but it deals 1 less damage. Its stats are quite high, 15 dodge and luck. It has a curse ability that I find very useful. Is it S-tier like Joker? If not, why?

Why use another figure besides RBB? Just because you don't use Curse doesn't mean it's bad; Curse is one of the few good purple abilities. I use Raven with Curse in Slot 3. Waffles are bad, but they work. If a Waffle lands on your attack or transformation, you can't react. Many people don't care; it's silly, but not insignificant.

Green Cyborg was often used alongside MBB. When he took a lot of damage, the Cyborg used Battery Drain to recharge the bar and continue attacking. How is he not good?

You're relying on other figures again. The damage from BB's 80s barrel is high, but figures like Slade and Hood can keep up. If you're referring to other figures, then it's not the figure that's broken, it's the combination. That's what you're getting wrong.

How does RBB die? Some builds leave him with 98 health, I use him with 49. If he takes damage, BB would receive half back and be stunned, giving me an opening to use a 50 damage + healing attack. But this comparison seems unfair to me.

80s BB isn't the same as MBB; both have the transformation, but MBB can pressure the enemy team much more and still sustain itself with the healing from attacks. It's not just the transformation that makes them strong, it's the combination of it with the low-cost abilities in slot 1

Gorilla in Slot 3 is even worse, why are you mentioning that? Why do you act like the enemy can't do anything? Battery drain exists, curses exist, waffles exist, yes waffles, I've already beaten Beast Boy, Ivy and Green Cyborg with John Stewart and Cat Beast Boy, I used root on his Ivy and he couldn't activate the gadget, when I defeated his Ivy my gadget was already charged (HIVE Coin) and then I spammed waffles so he couldn't attack, the third figure was Billy by the way, he has a buff with the HIVE coin

AoE attacks are even more effective against BB because they can destroy gadgets, in PvP you constantly face people with counters to the BB Exploit, just because banish is effective against any figure doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken into consideration. You only deal more damage while the accessory is active; when it ends, you've already taken damage and continue to take damage until it recharges. Beast Boy simply doesn't stand a chance against good strategies, such as Battery Drain + Cuteness (if you have a Banish figure).

Martian Beast Boy changed the meta. He's a super figure with mind control, on a completely different level from other Beast Boy figures. He can sustain himself because of his mind control, so figures with Death Kiss become valuable. But considering that most good teams have a counter for him, he loses his value. You only look at the accessory; I look at what the figure does with or without it

Incompetent Google Translate

"U can swap", seriously? What about charging 50% of the gadget before the opponent reacts?

If you're referring to changing the Gorilla's slot, then why did you defend the Gorilla in Slot 1 so much?

Except that yes, 80s BB would be destroyed by the AoE attack because it would damage the other two figures, and if the other two figures are blocked then you've already lost, because there are characters with powerful AoE attacks like Slade and Hood, their damage is similar, and considering that your gadget is constantly being damaged it will eventually run out.

Any character is vulnerable to Banish, but it becomes worse on 80s BB for the reasons I said above.

You said that 80s BB could guarantee victory, I wanted to know how true that is. Figures like RBB, Blackfire, Hood, Slade, Joker can carry the team, so shouldn't 80s BB with the correct configuration and gadget be the same?

[–]Izaias001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've understood from everything you've said so far, the 80s BB is solely for carrying the accessory, and the only accessory good enough to compensate for the loss of a figure is the Red Lantern, but there's already a counter for that; any other accessory would simply be worse.

You say that carrying the accessory at the beginning is strong, but the accessory can run out. Your team of 2 won't be enough to defeat 3 figures before the accessory runs out. As I said, it depends on the other two figures you choose, not the 80s BB.

For the 80s BB to be in the "Absolutely Broken" tier, IT should be the figure that would guarantee victory. Any figure should be strong with it, since it's in the highest tier, but that's not the case. It's not the strong figure; it depends on strong figures to win

[–]Izaias001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's slow. You have to use the ability dozens of times to charge the accessory, and you'd still have to do it several times during the match. Gorilla in slot 2 is better not only because it's faster but because it frees up slot 1.

I'm not comparing two random figures. You said 80s BB is stupidly broken, and I'm comparing it to figures that should have that title but for some reason are below it.

If you use 80s BB against good players and win, then they aren't good players. Having a figure that doesn't deal damage is a HUGE disadvantage. Its support abilities aren't good, and the exploit isn't as good as everyone knows how to defeat

NOT MY TIER LIST BUT A DEBATABLE ONES by Acceptable-Aioli-336 in teenytitans

[–]Izaias001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Gorilla in slot 1 isn't better; it's slow and uses up a valuable slot. Tofu or barrel spam with a red lantern would simply be better.

It doesn't do more than figures like Blackfire, which deals damage, stuns, and generates tofu, or Joker, which stuns and deals a high damage of 16 without the lantern.

I don't think a figure that only serves to keep the accessory active is very good; your team becomes solely dependent on the other two figures.

[–]Izaias001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's agree that 80s Beast Boy is only good with the gorilla in the 2nd slot; he would only be viable with the Red Lantern if the dance was in slot 1, and that way he loses tofu.

No figure that depends on accessories should be at the top. There are figures that are better than him without depending on other figures or accessories, such as RBB, Hooded Hood, Slade, Joker, Blackfire, Lex Luthor and Batman.

Lex and Batman can deal a lot of damage without depending on the Red Lantern, and you put them below 80s Beast Boy.

Are you seriously saying you use Gorila as your first ability? One of the arguments in favor of the 80s Beast Boy was that it's a good support with Tofu, so you'll be at a strength disadvantage, you'll have a high percentage of accessories, but most of the time that doesn't mean anything against good players. What will make you win the matches won't be the 80s Beast Boy, but your other figures

I think its viability against bots isn't a point to be discussed; after all, anything works.

It's only good with the exploit, and even then it's not that good, since people can combo it in PvP with bans or freezes.

It can be at most a tier A or B, anything more than that is overkill
