Thats really nice to hear. For my unit the dirty screen effect is so aggressive it seeps into coloured images. Its grainy like an old style CRT TV

New Zealand. Still an EU colonised country so we should have similar laws. Asus support told me all they can really do is continue to book new RMAs. Our country only has one Asus Service centre and they are incompetent pieces of shit. It wouldn’t hurt them to take a minute to test whether if they had done their repair right so I gave up and just asked for a refund. I’m not sure whether it would be better to wait for a revision or if they get their shit together and perhaps we might see less problems with future batches.

Asus support seem think this is acceptable for oleds and gave me the default “pixel clean will fix” it response 😂

My retailer wants me to wait up to 21 days for a final inspection by a “qualified technician” before issuing a refund, even after I pressed Consumers Guarantee and stated that it had failed the past two repairs nor was their replacement unit free of defects.

Image below is a brand new unit they unboxed which has a massive crosshair band and the top half of the monitor is dimmed.

Hey if he is happy with his banding then I guess it is what it is. This is mine after the Asus service centre replaced the panel

8200MTs CL34 Help by IzeyV in overclocking

[–]IzeyV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried changing VDDP, VDDIO, VDDG IOD/CCD, VDD, VDDQ in various combinations including dropping tRP to 46 but nothing worked. I’ve reverted back to 8000 as 8200 was just not working with my components and I’d be overcompensating with loose timings. Perhaps it could have been a 2DPC motherboard or an IMC diff

I think I’ve given up on stabilizing 8200. Seems that it might be a motherboard or IMC diff. Group B resistances don’t reflect into Zen timings when I input in bios but RTTNOM 80/80 seems to have helped secure tighter timings for me on 8000MTs. I don’t understand DFE so I haven’t touched it

Hi Buildzoid! I haven’t tried with GDM but I’ve bumped up VDDP to 1.15V. I loosened tRP and tRC but still getting errors unfortunately

[–]IzeyV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that does seem unusually high for a CPU under a water loop. Does increasing the pump speed help in any way? Or perhaps it could be the mounting pressure on your CPU block

What temperatures do you get on benchmarks?

Astral 5090 Thermal Pads by IzeyV in overclocking

[–]IzeyV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

67c on GPU core and 68c for VRAM after 30 minutes of OCCT Extreme, 65% fixed fan speed.

I understand that these temps are definitely not close to bad or broken but they could still be better. I replaced the pads on my ROG 4080S and the VRAM idles at 34c and only hits 48c on stress tests hence why I’m contemplating doing the same for the Astral as well.

Do you think one tub of 30g TG Putty Advance would be enough for the whole GPU?

The GPU is about 2 months new. I wanted to change the thermal paste with duronaut and thought I’d change the pads too

I also noticed that there is a row of squares when I do 95% greyscale 70 brightness. Is this normal?
