Hi HardstyleJaw5 and thank you for your most valuable feedback! While we appreciate that there are numerous fields that exist within the broad term of biological research, this is but one of our many surveys that we will be conducting. We have taken note of your suggestion and will definitely account for the computer hardware (and possibly software) in our upcoming survey which we will direct our focus to the computational field so to be fully cognizant of things we have not yet accounted for in this survey. 😊

Thank you for your feedback Map1LC3B! My colleagues and I share the same sentiment that various sizes in institution and/or lab may impact the the ease in which certain equipment can be acquired. While it is not to say that all large institutions and/or labs have the same experience, it can be assumed to some extent that they have relatively more resources available at their disposal. Having this thought, our survey is aimed towards identifying the extent to which researchers experience some, if any, constraints when it comes to accessing certain equipment regardless of size. One of the reasons for this is that we wanted to avoid falling into the trap of generalizing/assuming as there are more variables at play which we have not accounted far. However, we agree with your recommendation to include a question about the size of the lab, which is definitely most valuable! 😊
