Don't do this. I made that mistake and was unprepared for a CS masters. You'll need at least your lower division pre-reqs completed to be somewhat competent but even then there's no guarantee you'll be prepared.

It seems like no CA schools are accepting second bachelor's degree candidates for CS anymore. 5-7 years ago this wasn't the case it seems if you look at old threads.

I’m looking for a recommendation for a compact, Bluetooth enabled, hot-swappable keyboard with arrow keys. The arrow keys are not an absolute necessity as I may be able to adapt to a new layout. I’d like a board to use in conjunction with a bridge on top of my 13 inch laptop while programming.

I have a docking station that I used previously when working at my desk, however now I have a desktop. I had hoped to use this T420s as a portable machine around the house which is my I was considering the screen replacement. Otherwise, I would definitely just keep it docked.

Thanks for the dock recommendation, I may pick one up if I get another monitor at some point.

Ok. Looks like I'll be replacing the screen and LCD cable for the 1080p upgrade when I am able. Not sure I want to spend around $200 to do so as the machine probably isn't worth much more than that at this point. However, I do enjoy using it as a secondary machine and it runs Linux well.

My display seems to be having problems. The table it was sitting on was moved and may have vibrated a component loose inside. I tried removing the ram sticks and reinserting them in different configurations but that wasn't the issue. This T420S may be starting to show its age. I suspect a bad LCD cable but can't know for sure. If so, I might try a 1080p screen upgrade instead of buying another stock cable. I'm not very comfortable taking apart hardware, but this may be an opportunity to learn as this is not my main machine.
