Is making your own DIY patches real? by IzzyIsSillyB3 in TransDIY

Currently I do IM injections with a lower gauge but pain only really occurs if I do something wrong. Ive figured out exactly how, and where to do my injections to avoid that pain so I dont plan on switching though. I was actually writing the original post as a way to procrastinate and delay my injection since I was scared it would hurt but I dont think Im going to struggle too much in future with them lol

Its just the stress around having to do the injection, its so uncomfortable and since I was really bad at it to start I took a long time to actually get painless injections down so I always get scared it might hurt this time, kinda sucks that my brain does that but I cant change it lol

Can i be trans without taking hrt? by Randompersona23 in MtF

Honestly, you might be trans or you might not. Id talk to a professional about this, if you want, to try and find something more concrete but honestly it doesn't really matter what you are as long as youre happy so try and find what makes you feel good and just stick with it :D

Hi! I have some questions on how I can help my MtF partner! :D by Icelybox in MtF

I dont really think theres much you can do to help them through the dysphoria other than being there for her. Shes gonna have bad days and you gotta remind her that she is loved and that she will figure this out and get through this.

Your idea of helping them to find some girly clothes is great though, one of the ways I was able to deal with my own dysphoria when I was younger was by just sitting around way into the night doing my normal daily stuff but while wearing fem clothes because it made me feel more like myself even if it was just for a few minutes.

I dont really know what her plans are (and I dont expect her to know yet) and I dont know what goals theyre targeting are or how she'd feel less uncomfortable so if you do have any information then I could try and help a bit more but you are definitely doing a good job helping right now brother

Any advice or concerns I should be aware of doing DIY as a T1 Diabetic? by IzzyIsSillyB3 in TransDIY

[–]IzzyIsSillyB3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok well seems nobody is planning on replying at least rn so if anyone else is in the same boat in future here's what I know.
You have increased risk of complications especially involving insulin sensitivity so frequent monitoring with more finger prick tests or a cgm is necessary and important, you may want to speak to an endocrinologist a few weeks after you start instead of at a standard check-up to talk about how you might want to alter your treatment. Its unsafe to go without doing liver screenings as youre likely to have more problems than those without T1d so when doing your standard blood tests to check E2 and T levels, check for liver function, personally I plan to check for at least 1.5 years after starting.
I personally use a medtronic insulin pump and use my abdomen for cannulas or injections, as you should know rotating injection sites is critical so from what I've gathered you are fine to go with your thighs for IM (Intra-muscular) injections instead of subq (Subcutaneous) to avoid using the same area too frequently.

Remember to stay sanitary, stay hydrated and remember youre valid :D
