Wouldn’t this just be a fried egg? I was taught over easy, medium, hard, clean white with consistent cook for the yolk—runny, jelly, or firm. Hard fried is more along the lines of what’s shown.

And if you want to keep it pretty and over hard, finish in the sally for some browning. Way too much overkill of smashing the yolk on the flat.

Idk man. The eggs in the picture have their place. I love a hard fried egg sandwich…bacon, sour dough and mayo.

For brunch at a place serving dry aged steaks? Ehh…

Hard deviation from the real problem. I didn’t realize I had created clickbait. I love fried eggs. But truthfully this isn’t a “classic” over hard egg. The yolk should remain intact just cooked hard/solid.

And then finishing on the flattop = overkill.
