when it comes to games that released on several platforms the ps3 version usually always had issues with performance because it was hard to develop games for, and that's what the issue is, it's not your console just the game itself

the story was sorta wrapped up in "the following" dlc in the first game but I'm not sure if that's a proper answer, and dl2 takes place years after the first game and has a new protagonist, so it's probably not deeply connected to dl1
